Heroes in GW2
The main issues with heroes is 1: the game is an open world game, and it would be quite silly to have people running around with personal armies.
2: The active combat would make balancing the heroes more or less impossible. Either they won’t be able to dodge/move around and will die really fast. Or they would be able to dodge everything and be superior to regular players, which was a rather big issue in GW1 with interrupts and such (Heroes were vastly superior and more or less never missed an interrupt).

People only dispute the game is dead…not certain zones are dead…
In various parts of the game there are hordes of players…
But in zones 20-70, well there are few if any…so those zones are fairly dead…
The living story doesn’t really help because it only brings zones back to life well the living story is there…as soon as living story goes away they return to being dead…especially as the living story is always temporary content…leaving nothing behind…
Bringing heros/henchmen back at some point especially for new players would probably be a good idea…
it would be rather awesome if you could “hire” a heroe (not destinys edge or anything, make new heroes) with the points we get by doing stuff, those we see when we log in,or use then as currency to buy trophies, furniture or nps to grant boons for limited time in yur home instance which is dead by the way..nothing happens there
back to the subject, the points would serve to hire said heroes, with a star rating in defence, offense, ranged and close, heal and codition for exemple and have a bank slot like the useless mini pets where you could have them tocollect them, hell Anet likes to milk that visuals and looks kinda stuff so make a gems only heroes on TP!!
the heroes could only be used outside in PVE,dungeons would be a thing to ponder, but it would be rather cool dudes and dudettes
ANET MAKE IT SO!..also,move the story along..
What we need is better LFG tool NOT heroes or henchmen, those tinhgs were fine in gw1 and I loved them for it but they do NOT fit in gw2 at all.
Hell yeah I’d totally go with heroes. Or even better: Have my heroes look like my other characters, Like i’m leveling a warband of my own. Why? Well everything is DEAD. He’s right lest face it. All those kittens do is run CoF and Fracts all day all night and the eventual guild mission. If you’re not gonna give us some AI hand, at least scatter some trinkets and boost their stupid gold/hour ratios across the world so these farmer/speedrunner kittenes would repopulate it and maybe do their “dayjob routine” along with people who is actually trying to have fun in the game, and hopefully make the world look alive in the process. Just that peak of lvl 80 zerging a world event boss here and there doesn’t cut it.

Sure the game needs lots of better things..better LFG,better guild monotiring, better housing, better story line….
but the question was regarding the heroes or henchmen,so yeah i think the point we see could actually serve a purpuse in hiring those heroes, who could be customized and some had a event tied to them or something along those lines, like some lines even written that gave them some backstory
