Guild Wars 2

This is mostly just about the “Suit of legacy armor” that gets mailed to you in the heroic chest. Basically I was wondering if it was like all of the other bonuses where each newly made character received one, as I was hoping I could have some way to get a new set of skins when the items their attached to become outdated. (IE creating a new character, then banking the skin so my main character can receive it)

You only get one set for free when your create your first character.

But you can buy others in the gem store, for 500 gems each.

You can also buy Transmutation Stones and Transmutation Crystals which let you combine the skin from one item with the stats from another, so you can keep using the first skin you got, or any other skins you come across and like.

You need Stones for any item level 1-79 and Crystals for level 80 items. You can buy them in the gem store or get them from completing maps and sometimes in Black Lion Chests.

You can however transmute them onto new items. Until you have level 80 items, you can use transmutation stones (which you get 3 of for completing any city’s exploration, and they come in many other ways as well. You can farm them by making/deleting alts to explore DR, that being the fastest city to complete imo, but regular play should make that unnecessary). Once a level 80 item is involved, you must use a transmutation crystal, which is harder to get.

Important: Using transmutation combines 2 items into 1 new item with your choice of skins, stats, and upgrade from each item. The 2 old ones vanish. So don’t transmute away a rare skin you like, use a statted item of dull appearance to put your special look on.
