Well my quustion is just about the ascended stuff , i mean i dont mind if a better gear is added to the game , it can be healthy for a player that has this mind set of ‘progression’ but i was wondering how frequently and how ‘big’ will be the stats of the future gear. Because if they are important imma just approach the game in another way : instead of farming for skins ill farm for stats . But do you guys have any info to give to us about ‘better gear’ ,??

Well you could look at the difference between exotic accessories and back items and the ascended ones to get an idea. I assume it would be similar for gear in other slots.

Which to me translates as a nice bonus to get one day but not enough of a difference that you really need it. When I have some laurels/guild commendations and gold spare (aka when I’m not using them for minis) I’ll get ascended gear, until then I’ll stick to exotic.

More then likely its going to be just enofe to give the illusion of being stronger but over all it should not be that big of a boots. I look at this as the way hq items worked in ff11. Some of these items did add a good bit but most of the time they did not add that much at all for the cost you had to put down. It was more of an effect to let ppl say “stop gimping our exp for using nq food” (you could see what type of food ppl used on item use). There was a good saying in ff11: If SE added in toilet paper to buff your hero then every one would hate you if you did not use toilet paper +1.

Its all realty in the players minds and hay if you feel better for having full ascended items more power to you but you should not feel worst for not having a full set. If a ppl ask you to show them say no you have that right and in truth they should not be asking because the game dose not have a system of seeing another person gear.

There’s a HUGE ASTERISK here when you do though that not everyone remembers to look at… You don’t just look at the stats of them both Unslotted. Any Exotic accessory you currently compare to an Ascended, let’s take this for example:

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/images/2/22/Ascended_example.png

…straight from the Wiki…

A lot of people only look at the Total stats of them unslotted. But it becomes immediately obvious that there’s only a 3-point difference on nearly all stats between Exotic and Ascended when you factor in what GETS SLOTTED INTO EACH OF THEM.

Ascended gear is extremely limited by the Infusion system. The infusion system itself is basically everything that was WRONG with Ascended from the get-go by the way because it is 100% a treadmill that’s only used to run that same treadmill you got the first Infusion from … Faster. Fractals being the most egregious example and WvW probably being the tamest. You don’t actually get more customizing with Infusions, you get LESS.

Well…. now that they’ve announced MF gear going bye bye you definitely get less (B/c we can’t just get that MF utility pendent to REPLACE ENTIRELY all the MF prefix gear we used to have to run before that Utility infusion was introduced).

These ascended crap won’t cater to pro-gear threadmills at all. It will only satisfy them for 2 days/weeks of grinding and then they will come back to complain that there is nothing to do.

A full set of ascended gear is 8% “better” than a full set (including trinkets) of exotic gear.

As someone who has full (or as full as we can get for now) ascended gear on my guardian , I can tell you this.

Unless you infuse it with agony resistance for high level fractals (I’ve done level 20 without any agony resistance just fine btw), it’s absolutely meaningless.

And I am so happy about that, even after spending the time to get it. The only reason I myself am maxing my crafting now for ascended armor/weapons is because I’m hoping for a nice ice set so my Guard can match her corrupted weapons. I could not care less about the truthfully insignificant stat boost.

As it is the only reason I am decked out in ascended gear currently is because I had the laurels and commendations and just figured “meh, why not?”.
