Guild Wars 2

Hi everyone I would just like to say im new and honored to be part of the GW2 community and was wondering if the GW2 player base still big or bigger then it was about a 1/2 to a year after its release? also would you say its more enjoyable then teso? all I enjoyed about teso was its pvp everything else was meh.

Also is there any expansions yet I need to pick up?

The player base is pretty good! Which can be a bit anoying if you want to get in to one of the T1 wvwvw servers, but with the mega server for pve areas, most maps have at least some people on them.

As for expansions not yet, Heart of Thorns is soon-ish though.

look up heart of thorns and the guild wars 2 twitch channel they ar currently in testing for HoT beta so soon yes there will be a Story expansion and most of the things you;ll see in the twitch channel videos like the new Profession revenant will be added before the story expansion/ map expansion.

i’d say the player base is bigger but of right now quite a lot of people are sitting on the edge of thier seats patiently waiting for HoT to begin, though there is still tons to do as a new player.

i have no clue about Teso , i’ve been a guild wars player since gw1 and only played WoW for a year or two on and off.

Going from gw2, to elder scrolls, back to gw2……

1. The community size is a little bigger I think. Players are much much nicer.

2. The world in gw2 is much better, combat I find to be much more fluid in every way.

3. Teso end game was pvp, and grinding those awful veteran levels. I will be honest though each level was a huge achievement and rewarding if you could afford to craft the armor. Gw2 is very very casual. Except a nice community. Once you’re level 80 the gear you get pretty cheaply or easy is pretty much the best armor in the game. End game is just getting cosmetic only stuff.

4. To follow up point 3 you can still do a huge grind for legendary armor, or ascended armor. It’s barely better just mostly a thing to achieve. If you like gear treadmills have to get used to it not being in this game. If your a huge Teso or wow fan this game is very very different. This game in my opinion is designed for fun, not trying to be the best of the best.

As a new player myself, please allow me to addresss some of your questions!

1) I cannot say whether or not the playerbase has grown but the cool thing is that if you happen to be on an underpopulated server, you will be allowed to “port” around until you land somewhere there are numerous players! It can be annoying sometimes when you port five times in a row, but it seems to happen early in the morning most of the time so…yeah. Point is, every effort is going to be made for you to have people around thus making a super huge playerbase almost an unnecessary thing.

2) Not sure. I’ve never played TESO.

3) No expansions yet though, as others have mentioned, Heart of Thorns is coming down the road and this will be GW2’s very first expansion! Without giving away spoilers, the storyline (not sure if it’s the Living or Personal storyline) ending is absolutely EPIC!
