this has been in the game since release and i often noticed it at mad kings costume
and when using radiant vambraces the same effect appears
using mad kings costume or the radiant vambraces together with being a ghost makes the particle effects get crazy and show pictures of your characters face and body and armor…
as you can see on the screenshot
on the left side my characters face appears and on the right side the tattoos on my norns chest…
The VFX on the radiant vambraces and mad kings costume pick a texture that your character is using except the geometry involved has its ambient color and incandescence turned up to make it indistinguishable from the original texture. This is to decrease bandwidth and send less packets between the client and server by consolidating and re-using textures.
EDIT: This goes for every particle effect that emits a “blinding” light effect. The “dark” VFX from the fused weapons and hellfire armor come from their own texture packets.
