Hiding parts of Outfits
I wish I could hide my skirt, but I’m afraid to find another skirt beneath it.
It would solve the issues the two sides have, the ones who like the outfits as a whole and the ones who like certain parts. Don’t understand why they haven’t done it yet.
Hiding parts of some outfits would require more design time (and more testing time, too). The advantage of outfits, from ANet’s perspective, is that it’s all or nothing; they don’t have to deal with variations.
I imagine that it would be easier to have options on some outfits than others, but then they’d have to explain why all outfits aren’t treated equally.
To be clear, I’m not against the idea. Instead, I’m guessing that it isn’t likely to happen, since it runs counter to the inherent simplicity of outfits.
I’m growing very annoyed at the constant outfits being pumped out.
I know there has already been lots of discussion about why we can’t mix and match parts of outfits, so I am not going to go that far. However, we are able to hide the head armor of an outfit, can we also get the ability to hide other sections too? Normal armor lets us hide shoulders and hands, and I would love to have this available for outfits too.
I recently purchased the ceremonial plated outfit. I love the outfit, but I think the shoulder plates are a bit much and would love to just hit them.
Does anyone else agree, or am I alone?
So long as existing armor is not shown in place of the costume pieces hidden.
I like using some of the outfits… but I would still like to mix and match and hide the outfit pieces the same way you can hide certain armor pieces. For example, I really like the Imperial outfit, but the shoulders are huge.
I understand the concepts of armor weights and seams; I realize you can’t hide the top or skirt of an outfit because of these, however, I still think the shoulders or gloves could be hidden. I would also like to wear certain outfits, but still show my choice of headgear— which is currently either outfit on or outfit (and everything else) off.
I don’t really have a problem with the outfits, They’re fun to dye, but I see your point.

I agree with you.
But even if you hide them, the specific outfit has another problem the neck ornament.
That thing clips with most long hair style for males or females, also makes Asura look like mini clowns.
It’s one of the nicest heavy outfits, but probably the people who designed it they never tested it.
I do not see fixing or editing (hide parts) in outfits as require more work….for them it will be more easy to throw more gem outfits and make cash flow.
i would already be happy if we could hide the costume but keep the headgear, would also be happy if i could decide to use armor headgear with a costume.
they barely need to change anything, the separation is there so take advantage of it.
I just picked up the White Mantle Outfit, and instantly regretted it. A-net should really allow us to hide all the parts we can normally hide with armor.
