High level loot in starter lands
I agree that the Queensdale champ train should be destroyed (or at least, moved to something else than a starter zone like Snowden Drifts).
However, I disagree that higher lvl loot should not be included.
This would mean that lvl 80’s, which make up the bulk of the population, would only stay in lvl 80 zones. There would be zero incentive to visit the earlier maps.
Agree 34985734957%. Seriously. QD champ chain is just silly if you are lvl 80. I only ever go out there to help some people if they need it or to do a speed knock out of my daily if i know that I can’t be on for too long.

We don’t get our level of materials or bags dropped. Only the equipment. While it would be very nice to just continue getting the drops for that area, thus cutting the cost of the middle range of materials, the entire reason for the change is to keep people in the non end-game areas. The whole model of GW2 is you can fight ANYWHERE and still get rewards. They won’t take away our high level equipment drops in low level areas.
All the armor and weapon drops are worth nearly nothing. The items that are actually something worth are things like T6 mats that only drop from highlevel mobs, or midlevel stuff like Linnen and Wool.

Many people don’t care for Orr or Southsun, so all that would be left for all those 80s would be Frostgorge. I think we have enough trouble with empty maps without sending almost everyone to just one zone.
The entire purpose of getting level 80 loot while playing in lower level zones is because of the fact you can play with your friend and don’t get trash loot.
If you are just complaining about the champ train in queensdale, a better solution would be to nerf it… not nerf the entire games mechanic because of your opinion.
If players are scaled down in low level areas, the loot should compensate.
The entire idea of having players scale down is to make the entire world usefull, no matter what level you are. If loot doesn’t scale then that whole system is pointless.

It’s not all equipment drops. It’s a chance of equipment drops. Granted, I’ve gotten Lv 80 exotics by beating up the parade of Flame Legion junkyard losers, but that’s the exception, and I was quite amused by it.
And, I’ll be honest here, I’d rather get Mighty level 1 blues from low-level mobs, because they sell for 5-6 silver on the Trading Post, for some odd reason. :P

Or light armor somewhere in the lvl 30-50 area instead of 80

you cannot get 80lvl items directly from drops in low level areas. you get them from champ bags, which are different story. also you get only tier1 materials from drops there
therefore i cannot comprehend what do you mean by “high level loot”. it’s not
from my point of view – “high level lootz” are tier5-6 mats, lodestones, cores and named exotics. can you get them from normal mobs in starter areas? no
as for champ bags, yes you can get those loots from them, but low level champs doesn’t always drop exotic bags as opposed to high level champs who always do

You absolutely can get 80 level drops in a 15 level zone. And outside of champ bags, as well. Its just a chance between area level, and character level. But materials never scale, which WOULD be a problem for the market.

Thats wrong .. mobs drop either loot in your level range, or on mob level. So in Queensdale you may get 1-15 items or 70-80 or whatever with a level 80 character.

4 champs in 10 min… If you really want to nerf that loot, then you have no clue, how people (the smarter ones), make money. It ppl want to farm the train let them The cooldown (10 min) on them is long enough.
No excuse anymore for not giving ‘hide mounts’-option
No thanks to unidentified weapons.
no, no adjustment. You obviously think meagerly populated low level maps (by a few new players), completely empty mid level areas and just the highest level maps with noteworthy population is the way to go. And you are wrong in that.

Strange, I got my Dusk off a Level 6 Raptor Hatchling in Metrica. I think you must be mistaken. =)

not sure if you guys are trolling or what. if you ever check your drops, you never get t5 material like Vial of Potent Blood or Vial of Powerful Blood in 1-15 zones, you get only Vial of Weak Blood on lv80 character.
as for item levels, yes you said " mobs drop either loot in your level range, or on mob level". but you will get 78lvl items max, with 80lvl toon in 1-15 zone. (with exception of champ bags)

forum troll
I think not. But, you can kill mobs wherever you like…as will I.
And thanks, Beldin, I have to admit I was in a short state of shock when it happened. =)

That was more or less was i also wrote in my first post in this thread :

So you can get lvl 80 weapons and armor everywhere, but since normally its white-green crap that is not really worth it to farm low level mobs at all.
And btw i also got already an exotic with a traveller rune out of the chest behind the lvl 4 Jotun in the Norn Starter Area .. so i believe that you really can get Dusk also from low level mobs.

Does anyone of you remember the days when GW2 was just released?
We had exactly this situation where a lvl 80 character in queensdale would get the same loot as a lvl 1 character. Anet changed this after a couple of months to ensure that the population would be able to spread out and still get some decent loot for their levels….
