Looking at ‘Bolt of Silk’ on the trading post.

The current buy order was 9.39 silver, however there are buy orders all the way down to 1 copper piece. In fact, the majority of buy orders for this item (totaling around 60K buy orders are less than 9 silver.

My questions are – do buy orders expire? if not, why not? What about buy orders on accounts that have not seen activity in the last x number of days? why wouldn’t those buy orders drop off?

The same could be said for sell orders i suppose.

It seems to me like a clean up of old orders would help make the trading post more current.

I am not expert, just opening a dialogue in the hopes i can learn a bit more about the game in general.

No thanks.

Anyways, I’ve been using my buy orders as a “Watch list” of sorts for items I’m interested in buying when the price is right.

I’ve also got investment buy orders set for when prices fall to a certain level. I can wait.

Well, those buy orders dont do any harm. I think one dev once said that its just too much labour to take em all off, at least the ones under vendor value + 15%.

Buy orders and sell orders don’t expire. That’s why you see buy orders at below vendor value. You used to be able to put buy orders in at any price, you can’t do that now IIRC.

Silk prices have been trending up in the past couple of weeks.

Buy orders aren’t the only thing I wish they’d “clean up” on the TP.
