I love playing GW2 and i love how ANet have included historical monuments from the times of GW1.
I like exploring these areas and remembering first seeing those monuments quite a few years ago when i started playing GW1.

I was hoping there would be more history on the new island, but so far I have found nothing :c

Are there plans to add (or unveil) more historical elements to the game?

Would you like to see more of this?

I would quite like a Historical Tour option (working similar to a world-wide vista) >.<

I was very excited when I noticed there were POI, but very disappointed when I noticed there was no extra info to them.

Why not adding some lore to the POIs? They’re often near statues, old castles, … but no extra info is giving. Think it’s a bit of a missed opportunity.

That’s a very nice idea also! Some sort of readable inscription (as found on some statues) or maybe an ‘old book’ next to some of these sites would add a little extra.

Love this kinda thing.

Amazing the amount of people that don’t read it though.

I forget the zone (one of the Charr/Ascalonian maps), but I came across a bunch of players killing off ghosts inside an old tomb. I was there a good 10 minutes looking around and came across a statue with a plaque, saying something about the floor being marked with the imprints of people kneeling over many years.

Of course the first thing I did was /kneel. And low and behold, an event kicked off.

What really amazed me was that out of the 20 or so people running around inside this tomb (near launch) I was the only person who bothered reading it and tried kneeling.

There’s another event spawning reading section in one of the dragon brand area’s which follows a set of riddles that lead you onto another riddle and so on until it spawns an event mob. Again, very few people ever actually bother reading and follow it through it’s entirety.

It’s a shame because some of the best content is uncovered this way.

Some sort of historical collection may make players more inclined to interact with things. For example, you could find a monument, find or uncover a related artifact nearby and make a collection for some sort of reward
