The polearm version is called a Military Fork

Would they split polearms and tridents “Military Fork?” If so then we could see 3 new weapons one for each craft Ploearms would be Weaponsmith Spears would be Huntsman and Tridents or Military Fork would be Artificer. This would also cover a new wepon for all classes. War Gaurds would get the Ploearms Thf Eng and Rnger would get Spears and Ele Mez and Necro would get the Tridents or Military Fork.
I guess you could double up on the weapons and let each class use 2 of the 3 wepon types.

NPC’s getting weapons does not mean we will get them. Nightmare Courtiers have been using whips since launch, and we still can’t use those outside of environment weapons.

Also, things seen in cinematics or art do not always cross over into the game proper, e.g. horses.

There’s a big difference between a random artwork piece not fully representing the game, and an in-game cinematic not representing the game. I’m sure they would never use horses in cinematic pieces.

Only classes that can use shields are Warrior, Guardian and Engineers.

Thats class in the video was using a 1hander melee land spear (lance) and a shield in off hand.

Come on people. Anet gave us a hint in the new trailer and nobody picking out the clues
