Hobosack suggestion: beltkits
Eh, the hobosacks turned out to be problematic even for my engis now, as the Slickpack started to mysteriously disappear after moving between maps. Unchecking and rechecking it helps, but is rather tedious. So yeah, I’m officially joining the hobo sack hater club. Booo!

I gather, from a previous post, that the hobo sacks are more like the Ele attunements which show on their hands/wrists rather than a regular backpiece item. Maybe that’s why they have problems fixing them. If they don’t want to get rid of them entirely, changing them to appear somewhere else might be a possibility.
They could also provide a selection of optional backpack skins that would completely cover the sacks, like the Slickpack does. It is fitting that an engi should wear SOME kind of contraption on the back… All the napalm takes some space.

hobosack fixes? Heh.. got actually many ideas… yea i got no live and the hobosack threat in the engi forum is my domain and the sacks are my mortal enemie.
fix1: Attument like icons
fix2: Fix the darn script that replaces the backpiece with a kit and reverse it to do the
opposide
fix3: A checkbox to hide the kit backpiece like you would a normal armor piece
fix 4: A script that does NOT bring the backpiece up if you got your back slot item
visible, also counts for invisible back items, hide it and you have your kits…
cause some ppl actually like them. (whats cool and not meant insulting)
fix5: GOOD LOOKING fannypacks located where you would usually have pistols if you
use a kit.
fix6: Handheld items only (also for nades and bombs who get handheld models)
that can be drawn and holstered like normal weapons
fix7: A scripted backpiece skin that can be only used by the engi class proper and
changes with the equipped kit and vanishes if no kit is used.
fix8: Allowing it to colour and hide them like they would be armor pieces
fix9: Some proper grammar for me…

They should just add a checkbox in settings that makes engi kits invisible when it’s checked.
Boom. Problem solved.
I suggested this last year in the original thread with dev replies.
