another point with the Guild Hall and Home Instance. we wont have the problem you get when you go to cities where you have all the GOLD SELLERS $#$#$ waiting for you. they won’t be in your home and if the were in the guild then the guild masters could boot them. instead we have to wait for Areanet to do something about them. the cities look full. awesome but with the intro of the mega Server they made it easier for people to be harassed which really takes away from the game. A guild hall would be a better idea then home instance. you can meet other guild mates that way. and you can work as a guild for rewards.

I’m sensing some bitter. :P

Also, the goldsellers WILL find you. My friend got a gold-whisper IN A PERSONAL STORY INSTANCE. /rofl

@Tagus Eleuthera – Too right. I don’t mind earning extra skins and such, as the options are nice, but unless I have a spare level 80 to throw them on, it’s kinda worthless. Having a home space, a real home space, for trophies and comfort items (and even a reduced Asura gate fee?) would be great.

Also, I’d like to add that it won’t change the perception of a busy LA. People who want to congregate in a social environment will continue to do so. Hell, I’ll still loiter in LA sometimes when I feel like it. People who enjoy map chat aren’t going to suddenly find themselves in a empty wasteland. They just won’t see as many people running from a WP to the TP and then zoning out.

I think this is an excellent idea, as I have wished for player housing of the home instance for quite sometime now, the idea to do that and/or move all of our privileges of crafting and direct portal and all the mentioned above was added to the home instance… even if Anet wanted to, I dunno, admit player housing and then maybe… as we furnish our homes, make it something we could earn achievement points for…?

^ Don’t you think that having your own stash at home(bank), a cooking station and a workshop as well as a machine connecting you to global e-bay is quite realistical?(Did I just mention a kitchen, PC and, well… a storage which are pretty common to be found in real houses?). And it would be a dream to work(craft) from home for some people for sure.
For me, I think it’s far more defining as a home for me than some random nodes growing… AND MOST IMPORTANTLY it does not require any major work to be done to get implemented in the game – it’s that QoL feature just like character names turning to grey(gray) when defeated.

haha yeah… it would be kind of annoying actually if you had a great home without the functionality of storage, selling/buying from npc’s, crafting, etc.

i like the idea of a construction skill so much for gw2 that i think il write a full developed idea in a few weeks on this forum so be on the lookout for that

A home instance, without actually having a home. Do characters live on the street or do they really spend all their time roaming the world?

I like to picture the Charr living on the streets just sleeping anywhere.
Kinda like real cats, they don’t care much where they sleep. :P

They should add some sleeping charr in Black citadel randomly across the map. :P

Norn get drunk and sleep in the snow for example (as seen in some heart quests haha).

But really, if we’re going in such detail, where are the bathrooms?

Haha I know right? Like, don’t you ever wonder how convenient it is that no one has to use the restroom right in the middle of battle? I fell like that would be a common thing to happen.

Personally, and idk if anet intended this or says I am wrong (but it doesn’t matter because I’ll tell you how I pretend it to be in my characters’ world lol) … I believe that sylvari are actually non-gender since they are born from the pods of a tree. I know they don’t appear it because anet wanted players to pick one or the other…but I like to think otherwise and that they have no “genitals” for lack of a better word and that they don’t need to eat or use the bathroom or any of that jazz. As far as the other races go…I’m not sure. Though my asura certainly could look non-gender too so I’ll pretend they create their babies from potions or portals or something lol. Yup…I like it xD

And awww I’d love to see sleepy charr on the streets!!!

I’d love a “real” home too though…one I can actually furnish (with limitless creative options) and design reeeeally in depth to personalize my characters style, race, & theme etc to a T…and I want them to all live together so that whomever I log in with, I’ll still be able to see the rest of my beloved team <3 And every time I add a new character, I have the option to expand the home to add a new room for them. Of course it’d also be great to have them travel and fight along side me, final fantasy style…but if that or both can’t be, then at least have the other

Just so you’re aware, this thread is from June 2014. You’d be better off making a new thread on the topic if you want to discuss it.

The Asura’s home instance is not comparable with the Norns. Not even close. There are a wealth of good idea’s about home instances, including a thread asking to add ranger pets and a large aquarium for aquatic pets. So many good ideas that I don’t think would affect the rest of the game as a whole so they might be cost effective. But it would require a much more standard basic home instance for each race than we have now.

Most importantly, these would be changes that would be fun based and not challenge based so they would make a lot of the players who are unhappy with the challenge changes, happy to see some interesting activities and options added and there is no reward at issue here either. They could even add things that would help players become more proficient through tests designed to show them how.
