Didn’t ANet keep saying that home instances are going to change based on your actions, the choices you make in the story quests, and other stuff?

Did any of you actually notice your home instance changing AT ALL? :/ I’ve ever only seen maybe a few new NPCs here and there scattered around, mostly ones I can’t even interact with. Other than that, my home instances never really changed. No new major NPCs, no new buildings or statues or decorations – just same old, same old.

What are your thoughts about the Home Instances? :/ I personally am feeling letdown.

Inb4 weird time to post about home instances.

There are a lot of things they promised us that we didn’t get to see as of yet. I think they are trying way too hard to push events and extra content (such as Lost Shores or whatever it was called) instead of actually working on implementing features that should have been here since launch. :/

Last time I went back their was a group of Hyleks sat in the middle of it. I lauded my Champion of the Sun status over them a bit then went about my business.

No most of what was promised to be in game at louch is there

A-net has said manny time’s that mmo’s are a servuis and that much of this will be roled out with content.

Alot of this stuff is probably already in the works and has a deadline.

Not from what I’ve read on the forums, as well as from playing experience, but alright. :s

why can’t they put all the crafting spaces and TP in HoM!????????????? I want to buy stuff of off TP for my crafting and not run across the whole city for it. Make HoM useful instead of a useless zone i visited months ago because there’s nothing to do in it.

He’s not even talking about the HoM, hahaha, funny that most people don’t even know the “Home Instance” exists.

That’s my thoughts. Been waiting for the mobile software since launch, the web apps, home instances, bug fixes in classes.

No one cares about the HoM. The purpose it served in GW1 is not the same as in GW2. Anyone who hasn’t played GW1 doesn’t even know about the HoM. It has nothing to do with the home instance.

They also mentioned wanting to let players have a profile page with information about their characters, which would be super helpful for other players if they need to check whether somebody has sufficiently powerful gear. Obviously these very forums were built with the extended experience in mind(note the disabled personalized character avatar feature), and I think if they want to tie everything together, so that you could access these features in game, they really need the time to make it work flawlessly. The home instance I count as another area that could be connected to public character profiles, but I’m not even sure they still want those.

The game engine is flexible enough allow all sorts of cool mechanics, and I hope they’ll use it to bring together what they had in mind for the home instance with the guild hall feature. Scrap home instance development and let players have their personalized instance as part of a guild village, an instance for guilds with many buildings, where each player has his own room so to speak. Have different skins for guild villages, just like guild halls had in GW1, and make them able to be upgraded into guild towns housing a small alliance of guilds, provided enough resources are available.
I don’t like the idea of neglecting home instances, but with guild housing being as good as confirmed, I feel that all the work being put into home instances could be rendered obsolete, as a large majority of players will prefer to hang out at a centralized dwelling of their guild.

Well, the Wintersday celebrations are over, I guess. I mean, the event goes until the 3rd, but the hype is pretty much DEAD. So, it’s safe to assume that if they REALLY meant any of the stuff they promised us, they would be smart and get on it now that they don’t have to plan any new events or anything for a while.

These is so much stuff missing still, that the only reasonable conclusion is that the game was rushed to the market long before it was finished – and by “long before” i mean at least half a year, perhaps a year.

That is what a lot of people are saying. The game was rushed near the end, even though ANet keeps saying that the game will be ready when it’s done.

Maybe because they didn’t want you to only zone in and out of your HoM and not ever appear in the cities?

Home Instance is the perfect place to expand and turn into some sort of large scale personal housing system, complete with not only movable and craftable furniture, but buildings and NPC’s.

This alone would increase the games replayability to a ridiculous level.

That’s kinda what it is supposed to be, but it was never fully implemented, hence my thread. :c
