Hello !

For roleplay purpose, it could be nice if we get an option at Home instance portal to just pass through the gate with a third button. Plenty of place wasted where people could roleplay together.

Just about Salma district ! There’s an hospital, an orphanage, a manor, houses, and an inn.
A complete district where people could roleplay, which already exist behind the door but wasted because of the gate.

It’s the same thing for Hero’s Canton, Applied Development Lab, Hunter’s Hearth, and Dreamer’s Terrace.

They are basically the same. Each Race needs it’s own home area.

What do you mean ?

My suggestion is for A.net to add a third button to just pass through the gate of every home instance and use it as a normal area of the city (with more than 5 players playing together) because it already exists and could be nice for roleplayers.

Given the effort they put in to stopping people from doing just that, I fear this won’t happen.

It used to be possible to get into the Salma district by a little bit of roof jumping. Guilds set up elaborate plot lines using the hospital, the inn, the orphanage — though most of the NPCs were missing and a few were doing weird glitchy things. Then suddenly an invisible wall went up to block the jumping in. Players found another way in. Another wall went up.

There was a long thread about it all at the time, with people wondering why this was done. After all, no game play advantage was gained by getting in there. I don’t think ANet ever answered.

May 28th patch (2013?). Even I, who doesn’t do any role playing, found this patch pointless and counterproductive. one of the many forum threads discussing it.
