I was just wondering since the home instance node has a “chance” (have grown to hate that word due to this game) at a charged quartz crystal, does the variety of pick we use weigh on that chance?

Molten Mining Pick=super efficient
Advanced Mining Pick=highly efficient
BL Mining Pick =extremely efficient
Master mining Pick=more efficient

Does the molten pick have the highest chance? If so then there is something amiss here as we were not aware that such a pick would have an effect on a time gated aspect of the game.

Where did you read that? It’s the first time I see that mentioned anywhere.

I couldn’t find any mention of that on the wiki. Where exactly did you see this information?

I could only imagine that the molten pick would have the same chance as an ori pick and that the black lion picks would have the best odds… having used over 50 of them fully there is definitely a difference in rare materials acquired between ori/molten and black lion.

Hey all, I just got a charged crystal from the home node. It’s true, they actually can be mined from them. I hadn’t even seen that that was possible and came here in a rather giddy mood to share.

If there is, it is a bug. The only differences between harvesting tools should be the max resource tier they can harvest.

it could be, but i burned through a lot of em harvesting the rich ori vein in southsun for a while and i definitely notice a big difference between them and the regular picks when it came to obtaining orbs

On the picks themselves they state they are of differentiating efficiencies. The context of the efficiency is directly linked to the chance of rare materials from nodes.

What we do not know is the degree to which each of the efficiencies matters or to how they are tiered.

My question to the devs is: Which is best super, extremely, more, or highly?

Dependent on that answer there may be an issue that arises. If the molten pick has the highest chances, then there is an issue of limited offer vs time gated material, which is well (for lack of better terms) deplorable implementation.

With my 3rd hit on the 1st day I got a Charged Quarts Crystal which I was unaware was possible at the time. (used Mithril Pick)

I’ve not had any more since.

It’s been stated elsewhere that the molten pick is not better at getting better grade drops than the ori pick. rest easy. The BLTC ones on the other hand do have a better chance. So if you want the best chance, go BLTC picks.

Since search is not working…do you know where this was stated? I don’t recall anything eluding us to the differences of each of the descriptors.

Well the Molten pick has the same quality as Ori picks. I’d say the only one that may be better would be the black lion one. I have heard of people getting charged quartz, but I’ve never seen it myself.

I do know that you get 3-8 Quartz ( maybe more ) from the node in the home instance per day.

I’ve parked my alt with the molten pick in its instance. No charged quartz so far but I’m only on day 3.

I really hope there will be some other way to convert all the quartz into charged aside from going to the skill point outside Shaemoor Garrison once a day to get one.
