I hope that the thing on the right wont cost three of the thing in the middle and another finishing kit.

I hope that “Ink kits will no longer require their lesser versions” means they will be cheaper, not that I will just need 10 of every pigment for a master kit

I hope that Linseed Oil gets right the heck out of the discipline, or gets severely reduced.

I hope that Tyrian Globe no longer requires a Gift of Exploration

Any other scribes out there eagerly awaiting the patch?

EDIT: Aight, eight edits later I give up making the image work. What devilry is this?

Eagerly awaiting is just another way to set yourself up for disappointment. :/

For recipes to not require you to have to have an excel spreadsheet or bubble chart to keep up with, like wanting to make one decoration and realizing you need 3 different things, each composed of 3 other things, which are made out of 3 other things, all needing an extremely large quantity of expensive or hard to come by mats.

I can kind of understand the logic they had when designing this profession, but it seems like they were really gearing this towards having one designated person in the guild doing this profession… in which they should have made it a permissions thing in guild ranking so that people could funnel everything they have to that one person. Otherwise, as a small guild or as an individual that just wants to make decorations for the guild hall, it just isn’t practical.

At the very least there needs to be a significant exp boost based on what you craft or how many mats it takes to make something. Like, 10 levels, not 1 or part of 1 level.

There really isn’t much I WOULDN’T change about the profession as it is right now. It would be nice if it were more in-line with other professions in terms of individual-hobby leveling. Especially since the things you make are gated by resonance anyway. (Another thing I don’t like about it.)

I think my biggest issue in general is just how hard, expensive, and how high of a skill level you need to make decorations.. especially given how expensive the decorations are to begin with.

My problem is mostly that you need to make a lot of useless things before you can go on to the nice things. And this is especially annoying as everything is so terribly expensive…

Increase supply PLUS reduce costs

e.g.
>> pigments need a much larger chance to be a rare salvage (on par with stuff that comes from ore nodes)
>> out side of HoT zone chances for Flax, like allowing us to buy a flax node for the home instance or guild hall
>> use lesser tiers of evergreen / mordrem slivers for decorations and not just Lodestones
>> reduce basic cost of pigments in Kits by 80% (from 10 => 2) as well as sand costs for sand paper
>> reduce amount of pulp you need for papers from 5 to 2
>> reduce the cost of slivers by 2/3 (from 3 to 1)
>> replace the lower tier, lesser “set/kit” with a karma cost item from the master trader
>> reduce the cost of fibres in Linen Sacks & Ropes by 50% & 75%
>> take a look at way more insane mat costs in decorations
>> tweak Writs/Books so they are always an option to gain XP to level up. This way you can at least make a consumable to use and are not stuck at a level with only one item giving XP (e.g. Guild Banquets!)

Probably a few things more (and a lot more if it includes general crafting and not just scribing – I am looking at leather supply!)

They said there will come other ways to get those slivers. That could work too.

But your last point is the major pain point I have with scribing. I wouldn’t mind making things that are useful, but Guild Banquets? It must be the most useless item to have a huge quantity off in the entire game… Especially for that price…
