Just completed the human Personal Story, and I have to say, I was horribly underwhelmed by the finale. I was expecting a massive and epic boss battle with an army of Tyria united against Zaitan, instead, I get a 10 minute 1 spamming fest.

In other words, I agree. Boss so anticlimactic that I cannot believe he’s actually done.

yeah it was pretty disappointing, but not surprised that humans suck. then again when 80% of a game is vanity is it really a surprise that 99% of the community acts like stuck up kittens?

As I recall you can’t actually fail the Zhatan fight. I just AFK for 10 minutes then go press 2 a few times on my characters.

Anet ran out of resources/time to finish that encounter. From what I can recall they were planning on having the party venture fourth into the volcano or something to finish off Zhatian’s head (being undead and all). The old alpha Arah Explorable even had Zhatian’s body strewn over the map. But they had to remove all that due to cutbacks. I believe they will re-vamp this fight in the future when they have less on their plate.

Yeah this was probably the worst way to end the personal story, it really literally actually ruins it, like a bad ending in a book.

But i guess they are fine with it, it hasnt changed in 2 years. And yet, they still choose to encourage people to do it, even though they know its one of their worst moments, kind of odd.

Zhaitan could’ve been better, but I wouldn’t call it bad.

Is it possible I was so pumped from the music and everything leading up to the encounter that it drowned out disappointment.

thats called being anti climactic, and i dont think anyone can say it was good, theres nothing good about it, the world is subjective, but i dont think there has been a more underwelming ending boss fight i can remember in my entire history of playing games.

thats called being anti climactic, and i dont think anyone can say it was good, theres nothing good about it, the world is subjective, but i dont think there has been a more underwelming ending boss fight i can remember in my entire history of playing games.

It was good in the sense that it was well made.

In terms of causing me to feel excitement or what not, the Shadow of the Dragon did that many times better.

Hopefully they decide to rev Zhaitan with a retconn in the future. Or have Teq powersteal and become the next elder undeaddrgn idk

actually you said it wasnt bad(implication when i here that is that it was not good, but not bad), now you are saying you liked it though, i cant argue that.

never played fallout 3 though, so perhaps that was worse.

You spend quite a number of hours perfecting your kitten nal and honing your killer instinct, just so the last boss stands seven feet in front of you to be shot in the face. He’s not even wearing armor.

I should’ve just flat-out typed it was good, rather than “I wouldn’t say it’s bad”. When I stated “It could’ve been better”, that should’ve been all the explanation needed for expressing that the fight wasn’t ‘great’ or ‘perfect’.
