LORE WISE, yes.
Game wise? They may as well be big foot.
In game, no, in lore, yes, and dont hear on those people, which would like to brainwash you, that there exist none in lore, they all lie.
The lore about them may be very subtle, but it exists.
Anet has also shown them already several times in various concept arts.

Both lore-wise and in-game.
I sincerely believe that all horses in Tyria were brutally slaughtered by charrs. I think they started using cows when they ran out of horses to use in their battles…
Asura Waypoints are way better than horses.
Can try to tame a centaur or two.
