Is player Housing finally being implemented or do I not bother?

It wasn’t mentioned. Guild halls were but not player housing.

If it would, it would have definitly been mentioned along with everything.

Didn’t play guild wars 1, is that not just the same as guild halls though?

Depends what you can accomplish with 1 person guild. A patient player can end up with their own personal deep cave, so it might be possible for one person to build a guild hall.

I’m betting guildhalls will need guild merits, restricting them to large guilds.

Housing will be implemented by the Tengu when they open their door to the rest of Kryta when they’re ready.

I’m such a player.. 1 man Guild and I’ve made my own personal Deep Cave….
So building up a personal guild hall should work also, just will take for sure some longer time ^^

Here’s a quote from Marten Kerstein from the guru site, back on 29 August 2011 – 04:21 AM, referring to an interview from Eric Flannum at PAX that year I think it was:

“It is helpful to take Eric’s full statement into account.

He mentioned that there will be no Guild Halls on release as we want to make Guild Halls a great experience and not just a “place”. We will introduce player housing at some point after launch, and at that time we will also implement guild halls."

For my part I’ve been waiting years to see if player housing indeed does come out with guild halls, hoping it does. Otherwise I’ll have egg all over my face with guidies I’ve been tossing that quote out to whenever they say there’s no player housing coming to gw2 :P. It’s been awhile obviously, but I’ve been holding onto that quote hoping for housing ever since. GW2 has a nice look that would work very well with player housing, of course more emotes & ability to actually use furniture could be added to go along with that

If player housing were coming they’d have said so. We were told we had every major feature listed and that wasn’t listed.

I remember the Martin Kerstein quote too, but you know, years in this industry is a long time. Things change.

We’re getting guild halls, not player housing. Obviously, many players will make a guild hall and pretend it’s their own little player house. I wouldn’t expect the customization options you see in other games, e.g. Wildstar.
