I made posts before about my distaste of ANETs design philosophy’s and many others.

Most people complain about the but capes and trench coats.

Good example of how this Armor could of been so much better but again ANET wants to censor everything and ruin it.

There are plenty of midriff-bearing (even to the point of revealing side and under breast) armor pieces in the game, though. I’m not sure why you think this is a case of censoring rather than a case of questionable design.

No there is like one underboob armor and its for thief and its human cultural. There are like 3 midriff armors for heavy thats all and none of them are that good. The one that is alright has a better GW1 version, ANET ruind the GW2 version and made it worst. There is 2 norn cultural. I wouldn’t call that plenty. That makes up like 1% of all the heavy armor tops. 2 of which humans can’t use.

The pants that I am wearing are the only heavy pants in the game its sad and they are cash shop.

I do agree that there should be far fewer butt-capes and more pants. I love the pants from the Aetherblade set, and I wish there were more like it. But I personally feel there are a good number of “sexy” tops for heavy and (especially) for light. I do with medium had a couple more, though.

My opinion still stands there are 68 heavy tops, you liked 7 which you think are kinda revealing but none of them are as revealing as some of the light armor. It amounts to 4% of heavy armors. My definition of plenty on heavy is not 4%

The Arah armor got changed well after launch (your middle image is what it was in game at the start, which is super close to the concept) after there were enough complaints about it having a hand grabbing the left breast. It wasn’t ANet censorship, it was ANet responding to player demands. Some were happy with the change, some unhappy, and the forums got over it. It was nowhere near the firestorm of the original flame kissed light armor.

Not sure what underboob has to do with bladed armor. However I don’t like the current bladed armor – I think it looks cheesey and could be MUCH better. I also don’t have anything against underboob (except that it has nothing to do with armor…)

What I would love is for Anet and all other MMOs to stop mixing “armor” and “sexy”. I have nothing against either but “armor” should be protective and they should also include skins that are sexy to put over your armor. Changing the look should be free.

As it is, having “sexy” armor is just a silly meme like chainmail bikini.

I think the Bladed Armor sets are the absolute worst armor sets I’ve seen in the game, period.

There are just so many immersion-breaking and flat out ridiculous and utterly USELESS adornments on the armor pieces that make you wonder how your character hasn’t killed themselves already just by walking around. I’m especially hinting at the heavy chestplate for Charr in particular.

The set in itself is cheesy, as others have mentioned, extremely distasteful in appearance and overall had the potential to be so wicked and intimidating… sadly it is not. It’s more like a cheap action figure set out of a cereal box with parts that don’t make sense at all.

I wish ANet hired REAL armor designers. Yepp.

I will admit a lot of the more recent armorsets have detail that just isn’t fluent throughout the entire set or overly obnoxious bits sticking out; especially to do with the shoulder pieces.

Where did you get the idea that a pair of tight jeans are skimpy?

Anyways, GW2’s core consumers are 30-40 year old prudish, politically correct “adults” that get triggered at the sight of so much of a curve from their characters, that’s why ANET catters to them with these bed-sheet armors. The last “skimpy” outfit that I remember was the Carapace set for lights, and even that has a hideous buttcape.

A real post then. ^^

If you look at all the Armor Skins we have available, it is easy to see that a lot light armor shows a lot of skin,
some medium armor shows a little bit of skin and even a view heavy armors show skin.
And even man got a view options. Interestingly, most in heavy.

All in all a really good mix of stuff that allows to mix some armor sets to get most looks you can imagine as long as you don’t stay bound to a single armor set/skin.

Don’t get me wrong though, I am for more armor designs in general, best something that wont only look good on it’s own

3. In a world where magic, enchantments and potions exist, I don’t think your choice of armor really matters much. My guardian has reflects, blocks, aegis, protection and regeneration for days son. She doesn’t need fully-covering proper armor.

While this is absolutely true, I like to have a little reasoning in the magic world, you see noting totally out of the blue.
Like in that case, sure, she wont need that kind of armor then, but why wear armor at all, a robe would allow much more freedom in movement and would be so much lighter than a heavy armor with holes.

It doesn’t matter if you are protected by magic, wearing a immensely heavy plate if you don’t need to is just stupid.

And to the actual topic, the blade armor is on every race and every class not really my thing either so a redesign would be awesome,
while I think “kinkier” is not really the way to go.

I’m just saying A-net has an overall very progressive(more like make more money) take on the whole Sexism Feminist mumbo jumbo take. I’d honestly not start a battle that not need started OP. Just let it for what it is. Or we might get Femikittens with thier pseudo scientifc research make a big deal out of how women are objectified in this game blah, blah, blah.

Just let it for what it is. there is enough female light armour, mid armour and even Outfits that show a nice amount of skin.

Most heavy armour is rather conversative. Which is the least of your worries. While most games are very liberal with the meaning. The standard heavy armour ussually covers up as much as possible be it both male or female.

Just let it for what it is or u might bring A-net on some ideas.

Actually not wanting to show skin in battle when you do not have to is feminist? The whole point of heavy armor classes is to be essentially tanks. Excuse me, I thought it was just common sense, the m1-a1 Abrams does not come in a soft-top model!

I would guess guys would have a different opinion if they were forced to fight monsters without something covering their groins!

I’d probably have the same opinion, since women in skimpy outfits would increase the armor rating of my otherwise unprotected groin.

No read my post. I never equated not wanting to show skin in battle to Feminism. Rather I said that Feminists themselves will blow this up more out of proportion then it need to be.

Second of all. I stated that in the classical sense heavy armour is conversative but clearly mmorpg games take liberties with that! Or have you forgotten that this is a fantasy game!!!???

Thirdly u are overexagarating. U are flat out lying that there is nothing to cover your groins in gw2. Every piece of female light armour atleast has underwear. Heck they aren’t even any thongs in this game? So what are ya on about? Lies?
