I go and sit in a fort with guards and watch TV or do chores around the house.
Then when the gaurds yell “were under attack:” or something similar I help them with the event. I kill a ton of mobs with aoe and get lots of items.

1 This is totally legit (forts with guards are meant to be safe places to rest and youre supposed to help defend them when they are attacked.)

2 Its better than walking around killing stuff and doing random events like I used to do because I never get DR. Its definitely more efficient and it may even be more productive.

Honestly Its not the most fun way to play but its definitely less frustrating than item DR.
If you simply want Karma though your better off running a circuit of events.

unfortunately I don’t like doing housework on my off days or when I get home from work. TV is also just full of junk nowadays. When are they red-doing Thundercats? I’d sit to watch that.

I usually surf the Trade Post after earning 3000+ karma; just checking out prices. Sometimes I will buy something. I’m still waiting to buy a nice exotic sword and mace for a good price.

You pretty much summed it up, if you want to avoid DR completely and still get rewards you need to sit in one camp and repeat one even over and over and over and over.

However it’s not really efficient for karma, those events usually take 5 minues and take 10 minutes to restart, so you’re looking at maybe 1.4 karma per hour…. that’s insane. The people who were farming for the legendary before the DR were getting 10k karma per hour easily, 15-20k per hour with a booster if they were really trying.

The DR has really taken the fun out of the game for me. I mean, its a farming game. That is endgame. At best, I log in for 30 mins, farm something I need, logout. Done for the day.
I’ve never played a mmorpg that was so….irrelevant.
I find myself looking for a mmorpg. I forget I even have it on my computer.

I avoid the DR issue by not playing pve

I avoid DR by playing Borderlands 2.

If i’m playing GW2, play no longer than 20 minutes. 20 minutes is the boredom threshold

I’ve more or less given up on PvE apart from leveling alts and only step away from the TP to play WvWvW.

I just run around doing quests and events, without paying any attention to the numbers that pop up with the completion medals. Seems to be working great, so far.

I never stay in the same place, I played my necro last night roaming Kessex Hills and Genderran Fields and I was hit by the DR, only getting 17-20 xp per kill on everything, I didn’t farm an event, I didn’t sit in one spot for long. First time it happened to me, I ended up just going to HoM and spvp’ing for the rest of the evening.

Is this a bug that came in with the Oct 1 patch?
