How Many Items Have You Salvaged?
I don’t have the math minutia, but I’ve only been playing this game since April 2015, and I’ve repeated Agent of Entropy 288 times over the 2,353 hours of my in-game existence.

I haven’t salvaged very much in the last 6 months or so, nothing like I used to, but I currently have:
- 1,898,812
Played for 6,552 hours and 16 minutes over the past 1,363 days. But, again, I’ve not played nearly as much as I used to over the past 6 months. :\

1098 * 200 = 219.600 times
in 5875 hours
= 37 times per hour
I’ve completed Agent of Entropy 351 times and playing since launch, but I used not to salvage since for a long time a lot of mats such as leather and silk sold at vendor prices. I just sold the items unsalvaged.
ANet may give it to you.
If I were to draw my salvage-time graph, it would start off as a horizontal line and then suddenly go vertical at the time Anet released the Copper-Fed Salvage-o-Matic.
For those interested in whether gem shop items pay for themselves
- Silver-Fed Salvage-O-Matic is 500 gems. Under the current 25g/100 gem exchange rate, that’s 125g. As it saves 1.44 copper per use compared to master’s kits, it would take 653,000 salvages to break even. Only one person in this thread (so far) comes close — assuming all salvages are using master’s level (not sure why anyone would do that, though).
- Copper-Fed is 800 gems, aka 200 gold. At a savings of 0.52 copper/use, it takes over 3.8 million uses to break even. Not even StinVec has come close.
tl;dr the infinite-use kits are poor investments to save money (although obviously wonderfully convenient).

Keep in mind that both cost around 65g at their time of release due to a lower gold/gem ratio.

A long time ago I decided to max my luck through buying stuff, salvaging it, and selling what I salvaged. I didn’t break even and in fact ended up losing about 200 gold in the process. In addition to this, I routinely salvage with a copper-fed-salvage-o-matic everything green and below. I salvage exotic armor if it’s less than a gold in price and I salvage exotic weapons if there is something I can salvage that is worth a good bit. I use black lion salvage kits for this of course.
So, my current score on Agent of Entropy is 1,230 times 200 plus 173/200. I’ve been playing since long before this achievement was in the game, so you could probably add a few hundred to that 1,230 number.
1,230 × 200 = 246,000 plus 173 = 246,173. (plus whatever I salvaged before GW2 started keeping track of it.
P.S. (Edited) I bought my copper-fed-salvage-o-matic back when it first came out. I seem to recall you could get it for about 30 to 35 gold, so I am not in the same boat as people paying 200 gold for it today. It’s more a convenience than anything else and I would not have attempted to max magic find without it.

Man , does this include all the worthless sigils/runes ?
AoE completed 1,960 times + 124/200, making 392, 124 items.
Enko wins. Most impressive.
I too decided to max Magic Find using salvage items purchased at the TP. With some market/price research I ended up over 200g ahead. I continue to buy and salvage long after maxing MF. FYI greens give the most Luck.
200 × 2133 = 426,600
Enko what are you doing with your Luck? I’m at 94 stacks and counting. Perhaps a Forge recipe to turn them into Mystic Coins or ectos or ……. minor sigils?

My Essences of Luck get upgraded to the exotic ones then get put on a storage character in the hopes we’ll have an additional use for them someday. When Guild Halls came out, used some of them for that
298*200+22=59,622. I have been playing for 1 year – 2,022 hours.
only 90K, so I’m a newb at this.
RIP City of Heroes
1289*200+185=257985 salvages. 8664 hours over 1362 days.
Lots and lots.
