Every few days, someone posts a note about a “bug” in the LFG tool. It’s possible that the tool is bugged; it’s also possible it works as intended. Regardless, maybe we’d be better off discussing, in CDI tradition, what we’d like version 2.0 of the LFG tool to do for us.

In other words, instead of complaining about how it fails to serve our needs, let’s tell ANet how we’d like it to work instead. Ideally, keep in mind that lots of folks use the tool, for different purposes and different reasons. Plus, ANet has some requirements, too: they don’t want it used for gold selling or spamming.

In the interests of keeping the discussion alive, let’s try to focus on building on each other’s ideas. For example, let’s try to avoid arguing (especially over terminology) and let’s leave room for those who rarely post (i.e. try to post just once or twice). (Yes, I know this should go without saying.)

John Smith: “you should kill monsters, because killing monsters is awesome.”

There are many features that should/could be added to the Lfg tool…
Cleaner ui that doesn’t keep a 1:1 ratio when expanding
The ability to Accept/Reject members like we do with parties
Separate sections for Inclusive vs Exclusive parties
The ability to reject a merge, the ability to merge with someone in an instance
——
On the more Exclusive side of things,(Note the lack of AP)
Class based rejection/acceptation (Yes, yes this game calls it profession, Wooooo….)
Level Based rejection/acceptation
Block list based Rejection/acceptation
The ability to disallow people kicked to rejoin
Rank based rejection/acception

Just a few of the things that should be in the lfg tool.

Just make it like every other MMO.

Have a queue and an open party system. You enter a queue it selects the members for you and throws you in the dungeon.

If you want a premade made then you use the open group menu like now. The group tool should facilitate fast grouping, id rather have a queue and let the pre made folks just have their own section If they want a specific party makeup.

The current one isn’t too terrible. It’s not amazing but it works for the most part. I’d rather see resources going else where. The only thing that really needs adjusted is the joining too many parties issue and then being blocked out of the lfg. Other than that it’s ok.

That’s not a discussion, that’s a forum game :P

Considering how much insane time they put into actually making the current lfg tool, I say don’t fix what’s not broken, especially if “2.0” turns out to be yet another huge dev time sink… and it would. It works for meee.

This. I want to select what dungeon and path/story and just go into queue. When the game gets a full party it should ask you to accept/ready check and then transport in.
