There are so many skins in GW2 already and this number is constantly growing. Its great that Anet added Wardrobe, and transmutation charges are easy to get but still, there is one thing that can make this system better IMHO.

For example, I love the looks of many, many skins. Weapons especially. Having them in my Wardrobe collection is good, but having an option to actually use them is even better. But I have only a limited number of characters, and there is no point (for most players) of creating more than 8 (1 for each class) max. So we have a huge amount of cool skins, but very little amount of weapons/armor we can actually use these skins for.

So how about multi skins option? For example, some kind of new item: “Add 1 skin option charge” or something like that. If you use it on a weapon/armor it gains +1 additional skin slot! So you can add skins to that particular piece of equipment and switch them when you want (while out of combat ofc) without wasting the transmutation charge every time. The ways how this work can actually warry a lot, but I hope you got the idea.

That way skins will become even more fun. For example, that way you can change the looks of your favourite weapons/armors from a variety of saved skins depending on your mood/activity and etc. Imagine a greatsword with 20 saved skins on it, so you have option to switch them any time you want!

I really hope devs will implement something like this in the future. Too many skins, too few ways to use them! Please support this topic if you like the idea.

It would be better just to ditch the Transmutation Charges and let us change our skins freely.

It has already been counted how many charges a casual player can possibly get without buying them or playing PvP. That is 29 at most if you never get a key from map completion per character.

If I put something in my wardrobe IRL, I do not have to pay to wear it, I just grab it and do so. I want to see free skin changes some day. The cash is still going to come into the gem shop, probably even more so.

Exactly. The amount of skins is getting annoying, because you can only gaze at them in your wardrobe…

create level 1 character, do all cities map completions = 6 charges.

but anyway, if they must have the gem store items, I wouldnt even mind if they did something like 5 transmutation charges = 1 transmutation crystal. apply that to a particular skin in your wardrobe and it become account wide free to apply like the achievement skins. This would allow people to use what charges they have and use fewer on a skin they just want to try out, still have some demand in the gem store and allow people to use their favorite skins more.

Perfect? probably not, but I think it would still be an improvement.

Of course, I would prefer skins to function like dyes currently do, but I dont really see that coming.

Already aware of the charge farming, I left it out on purpose.

No one thought we’d finally get the dyes account unlocked, but we raised enough hell and look at what came of it. Account wide dye palette. Now we just have to make ourselves heard over doing away with Transmutation Charges and allow us to use our wardrobes to the fullest.

Not a fan of transmutation charges, so I would love if Anet would remove them. I had 1000+ skins right after April feature patch and many more now. Most of them I will never use because of transmutation charges.

I doubt you will find anyone that plays the game that likes transmutation charges and thinks they are a good idea, and wants to keep them around.

+10000 to anything that makes the Wardrobe more useful and/or gets rid of transmutation charges.

These charges are a prime example of the game changing in one area while not changing in another area, making that “other” area unattractive.

The number of skins today compared with the number of skins when the game was launched is absolutely HUGE, but obtaining charges to make use of the many many options has not been increased accordingly. For most players this makes frequent changes in appearance (which is a FUN thing for most, which in turn is what ANet should want us to do) unattractive.

And the current method of “armor sets” (or rather the lack thereof) means that you would have to carry around every single alternative armorpiece that you may want to use in your limited inventory. This makes the option of making a multitude of different armorsets with different looks equally unattractive.

Suggestion: Add a new (hey, how about free) unlimited storage area for our equipment items, let us group them together to form custom “sets” and let us change our equipment to any “set” we want without the hassle to search and click every single piece in our inventories.

And while I am at constructive criticism, how about optional additional quickbar(s) that you can toggle on/off and position on your screen where you want them, into which you can put shortcuts to switch your different equipment sets and also use your consumables. That would be nice.

I do a lot of PVP and have more than 100+ charges, but still not using them much. Why? Because saving for ascended gear on all my characters, or for better skins. This really seems not what it should be. :-/

I have guild mates who bought few days ago some trans. charges and i am sure they are not the only players who buys them.
Removing them means less money for Anet, the game doesn’t have a subscription fee so what i feel is that trans charges should stay the way they are.Just my opinion.
