Guild Wars 2

Title states the main purpose, but it is becoming a larger and larger problem as more players hit 80. Price for gear rises every day, dungeons just got nerfed so you will generally lose money by grinding through them. The anti-farming software, while cool makes it almost impossible to farm for lvl 80 weapons and gear as there are only two places where they drop, and they only drop from similar enemies.

I can only farm Risen for around 20 minutes a day before the anti-farming software kicks in and they stop dropping any loot. Then I switch to Frostgorge sound where I can farm for around 20 minutes of Icebrood, then 20 minutes of Snow Trolls. After that, I am done for the day, I can’t do anything else to make money. Dynamic events, even group events with chests give me a handful of blue items for an hour long fight.

The gear I am currently going for costs around 8 to 10 g a piece, and from a day worth of farming, which I can only effectively do for an hour nets me around 1 g. So I get to spend 8 to 10 days to farm one piece of gear. I really just want to play my Necromancer but it’s like I’m being forced to level an alt. Somethings got to give, dungeons are pure cost and grind for cool looking gear with bad stats that I will have to transmute anyways.

If anyone has a good way to make money that I can actually do for more than an hour a day I’m open to suggestions, but the way things are going it will be nerfed within a week. I used to be able to farm several gold in a couple hours of playing, but now my only hope is to get a rare dye drop that’s worth a lot. It’s just sad that I can’t even play the game and hope to make any money anymore. I would do WvW, but my computer can’t take the stress, and I lag too much for PvP.

So now I am forced to level an alternate when all I want to play is my level 80 necromancer.

TL;DR: Something needs to change, with nerfs to dungeons, DE’s, and the anti-farming software, it’s almost impossible to make more than one or two gold a day as a level 80.
