Guild Wars 2

Hi, just got GW2 today and I’ve been patching it, so far im at 7% (~600Mbs). Is this a bad time to patch this game? cause I’m on a 10Gb internet max download plan. My speed is at ~100kb/s.
My Question is this how large is the current patch?

There have been many patches since game came out. I haven’t downloaded newest patch yet, but my game files are a bit over 16gb on hard disk. I assume this patch is similar size like usual ones which is around 500-600mb.

All patches together are at least 5gb I’d say.

Also GW2 downloader is a bit weird since % doesn’t reflect size of data but number of files. For example if it has 100 files and it’s on let’s say 80% and shows you downloaded 50mb, rest 20% may be 1mb since all 20 files you have left are in total 1mb or it could be 1gb if those 20 are so big.

Might want to edit your title to say How large is the patch? instead of Patch is large. There are many in your shoes so this is a question that should be answered. Statements when using the QA feature generally are people using it incorrectly so you will not get your answer as fast as if your title was phrased as a question.

Are you sure? Looking at the status bar and files remaining (~90,000) are you sure its only 5gbs cause im @ 10% and ~900mb and 90,000 files is a lot. but thanks for the answer.

I think its 25gb.

If you are down loading at 100kbs, it will probably take you a 2 to 3 days of continuous downloading. So, 48 to 72 hours worth of downloading. If you only have 10G, you are either going to gave to pay extra or do up to 10G this month and the remainder next month (and maybe the following month if it you use the internet for other stuff).
