I believe most of you know what i am talking about.
Karka Queen dies in 2 minutes of “AFK Auto-Attackers”, i am very confuse in understand why is Karka Queen considered one HardCore Boss?
I believe that’s one insult to Tequatl and Three Head Wurm, Karka dies faster than the lvl 15 area boss, Frozen Maw Shaman. If there is a boss more worthy of Hardcore, it must be Jormag.
Is it just me or you’re also wondering the same thing?

I think that, in this case, they expected the pre-event to be the challenge. If it’s not, then expect them to make it harder at some point in the future.
Yeah. I don’t know why they put Karka Queen in the same category as Tequatl and Evolved Wurm. They’re nowhere near the same level of difficulty. But I expect they’ll make it more challenging sometime this year.
If you’ve ever tried soloing (or heck, 5-manning) the Karka queen, you’ll know it takes quite the effort.
Most temples (big events in their own way) can be completed with fewer than 5 players.
Scale wise, the Karka Queen needs a bigger Zerg to take it on. Just, not all things scale properly from 1 player to 150 players. If you want to respect it as hard, just try soloing it.
Unlike other world bosses, before megaservers, the Karka Queen wasn’t completed all the time. It takes more than 5 people to complete, which is more than enough for all the other events, and minor coordination on the camps, though a zerg removes that. Basically, the events are categorized by player requirements: low level, normal and zerg.
It is not. The drop from the queen is pretty much the same as other mid level boss. It doesnt have any unique skins or mini.

Every time i did before the patch it was fine, not big groups but never lost at it. But after this patch is pretty much guaranteed i will never be able to soloing Karka Queen.
Yet, comparing to the other HardCore bosses that require much more than only numbers, Karka Queen is just not in the category. I believe Jormag would fit one slot of Hardcore better than Karka at this point.

There’s nothing particularly challenging about the pre-events. I’ve managed to take all four camps with just 3 people a few times, if you’re smart about what order you do them in.
The problem with Karka Queen is that there’s virtually no upscaling past a certain point. Her health seems to stop scaling early on, and although she does put up slightly more stacks of the egg busted armor – wiith enough people you do not even need to remove the buff.
Before the Karka Queen entered the recent rotation she wasn’t going down that easily. People didn’t know tactics. It usually required a guild to do the pre-events but they sometimes needed to call for some extra bodies from Lion’s Arch too. Even then she was only going down in the last minute. Lots of people don’t like karka at all.
As soon as everyone knows the eggs and the dodges, and where the adds come from, and not to run through Steampipe, it does look a lot easier yes.

There’s no way to solo it now, mind you. ;>
That thing just spawned about 10seconds away from an uncontested waypoint, of course it melted because it did not scale in time. Never seen it die that fast with almost all stacks of armor still up.
It used to be quite an event if you had not too many players around, now it´s even more boring than Behemoth.

Oh I know. If you can however, try soloing any of the camps between spawns, and see if you can capture all 4 camps in a 20 minute window.

Ech… Not Jormag, people, that boss is called Claw of Jormag. Short : Claw
Maybe it was less about labeling it hardcore and more about they needed to stick it somewhere on the list and that was as good a spot as any.
I don’t know about other servers but mine typically killed her only once per day at about 9ish at night EST and if you weren’t there or didn’t know we did it right then…you missed out. If that was a common occurrence around various servers it could also have more to do with setting a more visible set-in-stone time for people to all get in on it.
Anet should make it more like the original Karka event but definitely not as time consuming then it would be worthy of the spot it’s in.
