I just hit either 52 or 53. I sold all of my items during the disequilibrium, and I don’t buy items for salvage purposes. I’m still selling most of what I pick up if it’s a decent enough profit.

I have no plans to stop until max level, if that’s even possible. It’s not like luck can be sold, or anything.

if your trying to boost your magic find on purpose dont buy blues and greens.

Buy ecto’s and salavage them with a yellow kit. You get anywhere from 1 to 9+ T6 dusts which sell for around 11s to 15s, and they reward like 9 blue lucks and more often green, yellow, orange lucks.

So basically you end up dropping 82gold on 250 ecto’s. But end up getting like 70g+ back. The most dust ive gotten back from 250 ecto’s was 700 something. I basically profited on that one. and had 32 stacks of luck.

So if your going for high magic find do it the right way.

Shifu you shouldn’t NPC blues/greens if you’re worried about gold. They sell for more on the TP now regardless of level/type.

Personally I love salvaging for stuff… it means I don’t need to get more bagspace for my new characters since I can just carry around 4-5 kits and break it all down for mats + MF very quickly now

65 percent have seen no change in the “magic” of my drops. But then my drops have always been horrible. I have killed upwards of 75 mobs without a drop at all. I have an 18 slot “junk” bag that is the only bag that fills with any regularity. My first exotic drop in the game came 4 days before I had been playing a year.

Currently: My junk bag is still the one bag that fills.
I have not had any exotic drops in over a month.
I still get blues from world bosses.

So…if I want exotics at all, then I have to buy them from people who have better drops than I do and salvaging greens and blues is just costing me money to do that at this point.

At around 93% I came to a realization that “this” was how the drop rate should have been. It’s not like rares are spilling out of everything now but they are actually dropping “rarely” from mobs as opposed to “never”. So it seems you were always supposed to have around 100% MF before the changes.

I ain’t got nothing else to spend my gold and shizzit on so … I didn’t know that about salvaging ectos! I’ll definitely be doing that along with all the greens and blues. I have a ton of ectos in the bank just sitting there for nothing. Going to be easier than I thought to max out the Luck

I’m pretty sure greens give MUCH more more luck than blues, for starters. Ectos give more still, but seemingly not by a whole lot.

I’m at 81% now and according to the wiki, progressing to 100% will need just as much as i needed up until now. Technicaly, the higher you get, the more MF-boosters, food and bonuses are worth.
Considering, that you can easily get at least another 100% through various boosts, it doesn’t make much sense to mee to progress further after 200% is reached. That’s when a permanent % of MF starts to cost half a fortune.

HOWEVER, If MF boosts and achivement upgrades happen to ignore the MF cap of 300% then it’s a different story. Considering this, the maximum possible MF bonus would be 565%… O_o

Im at 129%. I only need about 1800 more luck to get to 130%. When I started out, I was putting buy orders in for blues and greens on the TP. But it barely feels worth it anymore when you need over 7000 luck for 1% MF. Like how long is it going to take for 1% MF to pay for itself when you are buying gear for 1.2-1.8 silver and your likely to need 600+.

Greens are the most cost effective way to max luck assuming you are bidding on ones that are around 1s. My tests with ecto you are making 2/3 of your money back from buying ecto (33s) and selling dust(14s). At 4.2million luck it will cost something like 4200 gold once you sell all of the piles of crystalline dust. If you are only bidding on greens ~1s it will cost you half as much money (2100g) to max magic find. This is assuming blue ~10luck, green ~20luck, ecto ~100luck.

You can buy rares to salvage for ecto too. Salvaging rares tends to be cheaper than buying ecto, since you are getting other mats back. Either way it is a long term goal.

Im talking if your specifically trying to get your luck up fast. A stack of ecto’s generally nets you 15+ stacks of luck if not more. and 2 to 3 stacks of T6 dust.
