How do conditions work if more than 1 person applies the same conditions to a world boss?

I was doing Claw of Jormag today and was using rifle / sword & sword on my warrior and realized that the only conditions that I saw showing up were my torment – despite using bleeds on my rifle.

If several people are applying the same conditions to the boss, I see that the stacks remain at 25 for that condition but how does the actual damage work? Is each person doing their own condition damage to it or is basically whoever has the most condition damage doing the damage while others are simply refreshing the stacks?

I’d love some sources on where this info is gathered as well please.

Thanks!

Edit: I was just told at Tequatl that condition dmg is pointless. So is that true? Are conditions pointless? I can’t find anywhere on the wiki that has clarification on my question.

Basically, any incoming condition stacks override existing stacks of the condition on the World Boss. This means that for easily applied conditions such as Bleeding, chances are your stacks will be overriden almost instantly as soon as you apply them. It’s not that Bleeding/Poison/Burning etc. don’t affect World Bosses; it’s just that YOUR contribution for those conditions will likely only last for a tick or two at most. (Conditions like Torment or Confusion are much more rarely applied, which is why you see them lasting longer. Incidentally, this is a handy trick for characters who struggle to get credit at World Bosses. Since those conditions are rarer and last longer, you can improve your chances at getting credit by inflicting those conditions as you won’t be competing with other players.)

This limit means that having excessive amounts of characters who specialise in condition damage is pointless at World Bosses. It’s a flaw that condi users have been complaining about since Day 1.

Right.. My brother and I have been complaining about that since day 1 and how anything but berserker is pointless. Are there any hopes of this being fixed?

They could “fix” bleeding on world bosses with approximation. Instead of checking condition damage for every player they can randomly choose 10-25 stacks, get their average tick damage and apply it to the rest of the stacks. Should easily allow 10000+ stacks.

Actually berserker is also a pretty bad choice for most of the world bosses as well since you can’t get a critical hit on them.

Epic rank world bosses are optimal with soldier gear. Legendary or champion rank world bosses are optimal with either berserker or berserker-assassin mixes depending on class.

Condition damage is nearly hopeless at world bosses. I say this as someone who has 2 condition-based characters. Really. Don’t do it.

The ONLY exception to this rule is husk conditioners at Triple wurm.

For epic-rank world bosses specifically, one important thing to have is a melee cleave weapon or AoE weapon – that is, one that can melee/AoE on its autoattack. Then learn the double damage (DD) spots, as every Epic rank except the Fire Elemental has at least 2 hitboxes, and it’s almost always true that at least 2 hitboxes are close enough to be hit by a single cleave. Fire Elemental also has two hitboxes, but instead of cleave you’ll want a piercing ranged autoattack, because of the way they’re located.

To my understanding you can only stack 25 conditions of the same type. All other conditions of that type applied afterwards are basically wasted.

Basically – it is the same with players too.
