I already have the geodes and the insect via PvP. It’s reaching the 4th tier that presents the problem. I heard you need to complete events in Dry top.

So I went to dry top and found 2 events, but my favor never went above 2. Then the sandstorm came, and I ran around till I found a “Champion Devourer Queen” event. But she was pretty tough to kill and I kept getting feared, plus she seemed to have a ton of health.

Is there a mechanic to kill her? And by how much will my tier level increase if I manage to kill her?

Overall, I spent almost an hour in dry top without getting any favor

Favour of the Zephyrites is not a “personal” thing. When it goes up, it goes up for everybody on the map. To get a T4 Dry Top, you require a map that is fairly active and well organised.

All players on the map can help to complete events which fills the favour of the zephyrites gauge. You get more (bonus) favour if you complete the events flawlessly.

I would recommend jumping into the map during peak-times (evenings and weekends). Failing that, I’m fairly sure that gw2community do regular Dry Top runs which attract a reasonable amount of people so you have a good chance of hitting that T4 or higher.

Tier is a zone wide event. The combination of everyone in the zone doing events gets you to the next tier. If you don’t make it, just wait till the next run. I have rarely seen it fail to reach tier 4 by the sand storm. Tier 5 I don’t think I’ve ever seen, and Tier 6 is right out.

The favor comes from the entire map, its not just you personally. The more events that are completed over the entire instance of the zone, the more the Favor of the Zephyrites goes up.

You need to find a good map with a decent number of people doing events to have the Favor reach tier 4. Tier 4 isn’t THAT difficult (T6 is the max and requires heavy coordination) but you can’t be in a completely empty map or anything.

Also, favor only goes up during the first 40 minutes of the hour (the time before the sandstorm).

You could also attempt to use LFG tool and request to be taxi’d into a tier4+ map.

keep checking LFG, I regularly see T4 or organized Dry Top map listing on it. At least during my play time (night EST)

you can also post a LFG listing: “lf T4+ Dry Top”. Someone may taxi you.
