My other thread was removed by a moderator because I’m not supposed to post duplicates (sorry, I didn’t know, it’s my first time on the forums). So I can’t see any responses that it got. That link just leads me back to Game Discussion.
I’d appreciate if someone could tell me what was said if someone answered me.
Brilliant on the mod’s part to remove the thread with all the replies, there were multiple, and leave the one pointing you to it because it was still there when I linked to it.
With action cam off, which is the default, you have to hold down the right mouse button to pan the camera about and if you are moving this will steer you. Action cam on simply removes the need to hold down the right mouse button. I don’t think I’ve seen what you described. What are you doing, where are you when this happens.

I assume that the mod removed the other one because this is where the thread properly belongs, but I wish he/she would have moved it and deleted this one.
I don’t know about Action cam, but this continues to happen no matter how I have my settings and will change without me having changed any settings.
To clarify what my problem is, If I have my screen facing north along the side of a cliff, and my character is facing west over the cliff edge, and I hit the forward key, sometimes he will move according to me screen and automatically move north, while other times he will simply walk west and over the cliff.
Have you tried mouse moving? Spin your camera to the way you want to go, press LMB and RMB together, you’ll run the way your camera is facing. If you need your mouse for other things you can press the keyboard forward key a moment later so you can move your cursor.
What might be happening to you is you are moving your screen facing with a random choice of mouse button (left or right) and one changes your movement vector and the other only changes your camera direction, to allow panning your view while moving forward.
I always mouse move, which makes ground targeting hard and wrecks me for fast timed turns in jp’s, but at least I always go where I expect

I hadn’t replied @Sir Jordan because I don’t really know the answer as this happens to be as well, the desyncing of character facing relative to movement and where they are looking. There are still times, and I don’t know how I get into this state, where it looks like the camera and character are pointing in the same direction but once I start to move the character snaps to a different direction.
