How do I make gold?
New bunker meta sux
You don’t have HoT? I don’t think there are any good ways to make money then.
Only thing I can think of would be to complete multiple world completions on alts because while you do all those hearts and other map items, you kill enemies and get loot.
Of course, it will take several lifetimes to get significant money this way.
Why can’t you do HoT stuff? Your signature says your main profession is a revenant.

Because we can’t be angry about both?
you can still do dungeons and get materials and tokens and some coin mate.
Best way to farm gold is probably Silverwastes, if we are to ignore the Lab. Even after the nerfs, you can still get alot of gold income. Another way is to do HoT maps, while I haven’t tried to farm that myself, I know some people who said that you get as much if not more than Silverwastes.
Orr is another way to farm, however, it is, in its’ current state, worse than Silverwastes.
buy some black lion skins for 80g, wait till event is over and sell for 160g. Rinse and repeat.
….. And Elementalist.

Improvised skins are an absolute steal right now, at around 50g. Gallant followed a similar pattern.

I have a friend who gets DC’d every 10~20 minutes while in the new maps, so they can’t get any sort of credit in events, and even if they do manage to tag something by the time they reconnect and log back in they lose tag credit because the process took too long.
Just having HoT doesn’t mean you can actually do HoT content yet, sadly.
what to farm in HOT?
Dungeons were my main source of income
Sieg, you don’t WvW anymore? Since when were you so preoccupied with gold.
The Warrior turns to the guardian and says, “Did you hear something?”
Guardian replies, “No, but how’d the elementalist die?”
make and sell Superior siege on the Trade post , though don’t buy the Elder wood just use what you collect .
though doing so you need siege master guide books from the Mystic forge which cost Skill points or hero points as they are called now.
its a effective why to turn old wood and skill points into extra money.
Mats selling is still one of the best ways to get gold quick, and (AFAIK) is agnostic of HoTs.
I managed to rack up a decent amount of Gold just doing the World Boss Hunt train at 2400z Philippine Standard Time (just do the time zone math), starting with Shatterer. Break the Yellows, sell the mats. Just a couple of Globs of Ecto (assuming you’re not into crafting items) sells for Gold. Go to Dulfy’s site to see how long ’till the next boss.
If you have the time, go around and mine Iron. It still sells a decent amount per stack. Also holds for certain Wood mats and… Onions.
If you’re seeing this while the Halloween event is still up, just go into the Labyrinth and KILL THINGS. A hundred Trick or Treat bags nets around 5-6 gold easy in the AH (at least according to the AH prices).

What about fractals?
Those encryption boxes/cubes whatever they’re called sell for 20silver a piece. Pretty good money, in my humble opinion.
Just do Molten Duo over and over and over.
buy gems with real money and convert them into gold.
They have nerfed every other way of making gold.

I have an outdated graphics card, and it can’t handle the new maps. FPS falls to under 5. I bought the expansion for just the revenant in pvp.

Well them nerving dungeons is pretty bad.. Mainly because it was the least braindead gold grind there was in the game. Sure might be better for the economy, but the economy focus is already troubling for the game-play.
Still I could imagine they would reduce COF P1 to 50 silver but that is 1 gold 5 silver now according to wiki?
On the other hand, the Aetherpath was already way under rewarded and they reduced that from 3 gold to 2 gold.
Better they had left the 3 gold there and even upped the drop-rate for those weapons a little. So at least there nerving would result in a better balance. That would then also mean a few paths would indeed even get upped a little. But they just took away some gold everywhere.
Making gold without HoT? Hmm- a tricky one.
-So far I’ve found a lot of ways to get gold with HoT by making sure I sell what’s valuable. If something is particularly valuable I’ll try and find an efficient way to get more. It never really becomes a grindy farm for me, I always see this method as a “side business” and try to play the game as normally as I can whilst earning extra gold.
This method I’ve used for a long time, in core Tyria as well. For example- if you’re levelling a character, make sure you complete maps and gather all the resources you come across. If you’re lucky you might get a BL key from 100%-ing the map, along with a bunch of handy and hopefully valuable materials.
-If I wanted to explore, I’d try and explore Frostgorge Sound, Fireheart Rise, Mount Maelstrom or the Orr regions. I have completed these areas a few times (I have a few level 80s) so know how to do them fast. You have a chance of getting a BL key on 100% and you’re also guaranteed 2 exotics. Maybe you’ll get lucky and you’ll get two exotics that are worth a bit because of their upgrade component, or because they’re “named exotics”. Doing these areas are a good way to get rares and T5/6 too. If you’re looking for a quick way to explore them, check out this link: http://www.postcount.net/index.php?pageid=tdwindex
-Keep an eye on the economy. Find ways of obtaining items for cheaper than their sell value. This might mean crafting/refining (to sell), focused farming, salvaging for materials/upgrades or even investing/flipping. I realise that I’m being kinda cryptic/beating around the bush, but obviously I need to protect my own business (and others’ too). Make sure to consider the 15% tax. Don’t be afraid of long-term investments: they work as great nest-eggs if you suddenly want to buy something and need a chunk of gold. Learn market trends, use online resources like GW2spidy and GW2tp to aid you.
-Become a master at a certain aspect of the game and sell your skills. For instance, learn how to complete some of the tricky achievements for LS2, or how to solo/duo dungeon paths.
-Utilise alts. If you have alts, stick them at world bosses, node farms/rich nodes, or JPs- whatever is most lucrative or useful to you. Equally, make use of empty character slots. Some of the most expensive materials/upgrades can only be obtained through JPs completed by low level characters and equally, some expensive gatherable materials can be obtained on lower level alts. Use Tomes of Knowledge so they hit the threshold and check in every day.
-Reign in your spending habits- learn when the best time is to buy what you need (when it’s cheapest) or when it’s best to craft it. Budget yourself. Set goals. Maybe this is obvious to you already, but believe me it isn’t obvious to everybody!
Find something that people want, figure out the most efficient way to get that thing, then sell to them at a premium.
