Do I just use verbal abuse? It seems too specific, it’s what I have been using. I wish this weren’t even something I have to ask, but that’s the world we live in.

Best thing to do is screenshot it and send it to Anet. Their automated support options in game aren’t great atm.

Hate speech is just verbal abuse, no need to have a specific category for it.

This. It’s basically a catch all. I still want to make sure Anet gets my reports so I always screenshot / take video of things that need to be reported, bots, offensive names, offensive speech etc. and just send it to them directly.

Yeah b/c ya know there is a filter in the game for a reason. WHY people disable this filter is beyond me. I dunno about you but I’m sick of getting suspensions for 72hrs when people deliberately take off the filter. Then cry when you say kitten to them… seriously… kids these days… I dunno if the hate speach has any cursing in it but if it does and YOU take off the filter well that’s on you..

The filter isn’t there to allow bigots to “freely express” their bigotry, and isn’t a mechanism for others to ignore it either. Say stupid stuff, learn to deal with the consequences. Or better yet, keep your bigoted views to yourself.

Or here is a idea.. don’t take off your filter.. if they are being a racist that’s a diff story, but if they are cursing and you see the cursing.. well you just took off your filter and THAT is on you to deal with… curiosity killed the cat..

I was referring to true hate speech, though (actual bigotry, which I have seen in-game), not just someone ocassionally cursing. I wouldn’t report anyone for that. But stuff like “that’s all the Chinese do!” etc. will get reported in a heartbeat.

I’m not talking about swearing, I don’t even care about that, it’s the racist, bigotry, and other hateful things. And while you brought up the subject of filters, most of these kids will intentionally spell things wrong to get past any filters. I’ve never understood that part, why force someone to read something they chose not to read by activating a filter I’ll never understand, but then people who shout racist or homophobic slurs never really made sense in the first place.

I am kind of surprised that this person didn’t get taken down in mapchat asap.

Create a violation report using:

try to list:
-The name of the character being reported
-The name of the character you were playing at the time of the encounter
-The time and date of the incident (with time zone)
-A description of the offending action, dialogue, or name
-Screenshot(s) of the incident
And any other relevant details.

LOL…yes, you got the suspension because others took off their filters.

Has nothing to do with the terms of service, now, does it?
