How do you define Guild Wars 2?
The sequel that wasn’t a sequel.
A game I enjoy.
Time is a river.
The door is ajar.
Thief Wars 2
Greatsword Wars 2
Specialize, BiS, bored.
It’s okay. Not terrible, not amazing, but okay.
Potential , But They seem to be going in the wrong direction
Need GW1 features GVG , HOH bigger skill pool builds , more skill game is just easy grinding , which this game was supposed to not be

GW2 makes me feel like I’m playing with those large oversized legos for children aged 3-4, compared to gw1 which was like playing with legos in the far superior age range of 12+.
Except that you can jump in GW2.
I guess that makes up for it.
needs more elves
Grind Wars 2, from the company that said they don’t make grindy games.
Oh and “nothing good” every time you open a JP/Dragon chest.
lol, got all blue from chest for 1000th time in row.
Switched Anet to Square E and haven’t regretted it even once.

^ Apparently has never played any other MMO. You think GW2 is a grind? lul
Not perfect but the best MMO I’ve played to date.
Decent and grindy, but worth the money.
Guild War 2,
Guardian Warriors 2, nuff say.

Played Anarchy Online, Guild Wars 1, and this.
Please don’t assume things that you can’t possibly know. You just end up looking silly.
I feel the same way resonance.
Look at this list of games…

The description of Guild Wars is pretty accurate. The description for GW2 is erroneous.

" Like Guild Wars, equipment gained from the grinding experience that does exist, is only differentiated by its outward appearance and not by its statistics, (HAHAHAHA) meaning hardcore and casual players have access to the same quality, in terms of statistics, gear (HAHAHAHAHA)."
We should probably change that to reflect what actually goes on.
“People who hate the game yet post the most on the forums”
Right, fixed it. Guild Wars 2, the sequel to Guild Wars, departs from the formula found in Guild Wars, with a clear gear treadmill. “Exotic” weapons and gear are less powerful than “Ascended” items, and “Legendary” weapons are now and will always be scaled to be more powerful than both of these types. Casual players are unlikely to ever equip legendary weapons due to the time required to obtain the materials needed to construct a Legendary weapon. Ascended items, whilst being slightly more accessible, will still take days, or even months to equip for a casual player.
Market Simulator 2013.
omg, Resonance I can’t believe you did that. ty for giving me a chuckle before I head to bed. XD
Massively Exploring Role Playing Game – i love the exploring, jumping puzzles ninja events i didn’t see last time while passing by certain area, and the lush beutiful scenery – jungle areas rock!. And the tiny details – bird over rata sum, some bird landing on a rock when i’m doing jumpquest, tiny golem running around metrica province first town delivering all kinds of snarly, sarcastic messages from one asura scientist to another…i simply love this world. And asuras! I seriously pity any game trying to compete in “small short and cute race” departament with asura!
Most constructive thread ever.

These are the only two states you’ll find the world of Tyria.”
Bad sequel that killed an amazing game

Why did you omit this part?
“Nevertheless, gear is not essential to the enjoyment of the game and does not divide a line between casual and hardcore players, relying on skill in order to successfully complete challenges.”
we have to do things others may qualify as “evil”.

I don’t think it’s my place to define GW2 as I wasn’t involved in its creation, nor am I currently involved in its ongoing evolution.
But when I describe GW2 to people who have never played, the most common thing I find myself saying is: “This is the most fun I’ve had playing an MMORPG in a very long time.”

because it isn’t true?
“balanced”
my search for a balanced mmorpg lastet for about 5 years…my search has come to an end.
well, at least it’s the most balanced i’ve ever played :P

Guild Wars wasn’t an MMO but OK I’ll give you Anarchy Online and my apologies.
- Buggy, unplayable, easy dungeons
- Events that never work and have been bugged since launch
- Lieing patchnotes that declare fixes for bugs that aren’t fixed
- No endgame
- Objectively the worst story in a video game ever and an ending so terrible it dethrones Mass Effect 3’s infamous “Pick a color” finale.
- Developers lie about everything
- Falsified server population data

Careful, you might get infracted for that post!
anyway the patches certainly do bug more than they fix… sometimes they don’t fix anything, or we get a fix/update way before they even tell us it’s fixed/updated (I had the new Magnetic Grasp for my ele before they even made the patch that updated it… somehow :?)
Wannabe-PvP PvE Wars 2
We don’t put anything you liked from GW1 into this game, and add silly update Wars 2.

But you’re still here …
A really good CORPG.
Although after transferring from YB to TC, population density increases due to the Living Story and what seems to be the effect of Guesting, I’m slowly edging towards finally calling it an MMORPG.

Trust me, by now I’m used to it. The truth is verboten on these forums.
But you’re still here …
Last I checked if I’m given a sub-par product it is within my right to let the creator know he did a bad job and needs to improve.

No, GW2 is not an MMORPG.
i’m a new player. almost lvl 80, still only 25% of map covered. if i wish i can go explore, i wish i can go grind something somewhere, if i wish i can group and do some stuff, if i wish i can craft or whatever i want.
it’s the best mmo i played so far. it’s not structured. it leaves a lot of choices for player. that’s amazing. even most of AAA boxed games tend to guide players through their contents. this one doesn’t. and btw most of mmo games “tell” players how they should be playing while gw2 just gives you freedom, not questioning your intelligence.
so overall – for me gw2 is a must buy/play product/game. i never couldn’t thought that after morrowind i would see engaging, wonderful and curious world to explore. yep it exists here. it’s not morrowind but it’s way more interesting than those from latest bethesda works. and hey, it is mmo. i never experienced anything close to interesting and somewhat “not borring” story and its presentation. it’s not perfect, far from that, but again it’s better than a lot of boxed AAA titles out there. simply because it’s long, it’s demanding in some ways.
so for me gw2 has the good things that i expect from single player games and im amazed how those are implemented in mmo. in the end, for it’s price – it’s just amazing product. i could have bought like 5 games for full price, but those wouldn’t deliver, for me at least, the fun i got from this one.
ps. no fanboying here, gw2 has flaws, a lot, i’m just responding to thread.
a social game, asocial players.
betrayal
ascend gear,dr,loot nerfs,the grind
great guild tho
I think Guild Wars 2 is a pretty cool guy. Eh is fun to play and doesn’t afraid of anything.

There’s a difference between telling them what they need to improve on as fact, your opinions and accusing things with no evidence to back it up.
I.E.
Fact – There’s buggy events and dungeons (a mate got indefinitely rooted for the entire fight in TA)
Opinion – There’s no endgame, story is bad (not so much the story, as how it’s paced)
Accusation with no evidence – Falsifying server population data
Time is a river.
The door is ajar.
Collect these for that. Collect those for this.
Pretty but messy. Karma, gold, laurels, gems, tokens. They’re all over the place!
later. It doesn’t care that I’m there.”

That only requires one well thought out constructive post detailing the pros and cons of the game and saying what could be done better. It does not require you to shout your opinion and attempt to present it as fact everywhere on this forum.

The story is bad. It’s universally accepted as bad. When the Transformers movies have a more coherent plot than a game who’s developers say are proud of their storyline then you know something is wrong.
