How do you save laurels if...
Because you can get 50g/day easily but you can only get 1 laurel a day no matter what?
And I save them by not spending them.
By… not spending them?
Also, when ascended jewel crafting comes out, odds are you’ll be able to craft them.

I wish I had that many. I spend mine as soon as I get like 30 tops on trinkets for my alts to have ascended stuff.
Also once you gear up your main, you can easily let laurels stockpile. My alts are all stuck in a cave in random drop armor listening to a ghost pirate ramble, or by a crafting station to make my luck easier to manage; they don’t deserve ascended trinkets. Because honestly, what do you really need money for, once you gear up your first character (and alts if you like the variety).
I have used ~100 laurels on t6 mats, but thats to keep for myself. Gotta do the slow legendary grind a bit at a time.
All i want from the Laurel shop is the Cat Tonic. Almost there.
After that i will probably use them to buy dyes.

i got the cat tonic and exchanged the rest for t6 mats. now i made an alt and am working on their ascended

This and the fact that you can’t buy ascended equipment with gold, so if you want it you have to save up your laurels.
You can get gold in lots of ways, you can even combine some of them with the daily achievements so you get laurels at the same time.

Ummm. Just save them for what you want. Not like necklace price is insane. I have 3 Necklaces and Cat tonics and just use the rest on WvW. Buying any ascended beyond Necklace with Laurels is a waste~ use guild commendations and fractal tokens/drops.
Oh and I also hate spending money on RNG, so I wouldn’t want to buy those t6~ and dyes anyways.
I got all my ascended from fractals that’s the best deal currently
Two of my chars are fully geared. I have little to no interest spending laurels to gear my 3rd, 4th, or 5th alt. When you don’t need ascended gear, your laurels tend to pile up quite a bit. Completing the monthly every month helps too.
I will say, though, that the first time I got the 10 unidentified dye pack with laurels I got not only Celestial, but Abyss dye and Midnight Fire. I’m not kidding. It’s the single greatest RNG experience I’ve ever had. The rest of my RNG in GW2 has been absolute kitten. Sadly no one believed me in guild when I linked them. Whatever. I used both the Celestial and Abyss, sold the Midnight Fire because I already had it. In hindsight I should have sold them all because honestly I don’t use either Celestial or Abyss on my Sylvari characters.
Not sure why I even shared this. I guess to promote buying dyes with laurels? But that would be counterproductive to saving laurels.
It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….
I feel the OP’s pain, to a degree. That said, for me it’s because there’s zero satisfaction in having a character run about with less-than-best gear once I’m at max level.
Probably my biggest beef with Anet (the hideous failure of class balance aside) is that they did a 180 on the BiS gear deal. Effectively, I play one character, and never load up an alt, because there’s no point. Every resource I can earn in game is required just to maintain some build variety on one character.
So, yeah, I don’t save laurels either.

You’re right, once you get your gear they don’t have too much of a purpose (sure you get can t6 or dyes, but as others have said you can get money in other ways).
I’d say just set a threshold that you don’t want to go under, and use any laurels over that threshold. I set mine between 100 and 120, if anything comes out that I want, I most likely have enough laurels banked that I can get it, and I should still have a cushion after that. Everything else can go into dyes or T6 mats. I only had to get my 2 amulets (karma and AR) and my earrings (the down side of being a solo/small guild player). Even with taking a ~2.5 month break back around when laurels first came out I still had ~230-240 before I decided to start spending them.
And I save them by not spending them.
Same here. I have over 200 Laurels and I dread the idea of spending any of them because they are gated in such an extreme fashion. I regret the few times I tried spending them for mats, always feeling like what I got was not worth it at all.
I may eventually start buying Ascended items with Laurels but I need to build up my Badges of Honor after they were wiped out from buying Exotic armor (because I would rather use the WvW merchant so I can sacrifice less Laurels.)
Every resource I can earn in game is required just to maintain some build variety on one character.
Yeah, I have multiple level 80 alts and it destroyed my wallet trying just to get them all in exotics.
Now I’m considering at whether I’ll even be able to get one Ascended weapon for each of them, much less armor, much less alternates for alternate builds.
I guess I probably should just stop playing my other characters and focus on just one. A depressing outcome when GW2 seemed to want to encourage trying other characters and making alts. If I had known this was the result, I never would have rolled up other characters.
