I know that stats and such are reduced, but I’m curious about specifics. Which stats get reduced and by how much? I’d imagine the base stats are probably lowered to what they’d be on a normal character of that level. Gear stats, at least the base ones like damage and armor are reduced similarly, but what about the myriad stat boosts? Would a level 80 with a superior sigil of bloodlust go around trivializing low level areas with what is an extreme amount of power at that point in the game?

To be fair, I have no idea how the sigils work around low level areas. I’d assume they do.
Everything gets adjusted including armor, don’t think sigils do…

Well dynamic scaling does not work so well. Every area have a level cap and you character will be change to meet that level. I am not sure how the stats are change but a simple look at the hero menu will give you an idea.

Although level descaling sounds good on paper, it does not work so well in practice. At level 80, characters have access to rares and exotics. Rares and exotics are in a higher tiers than uncommon. Even if the stats are the same, trait abilities and skills will skew in favor of the level 80. Basically, level 80 will usually trivializing low areas regardless of stats

And they can still get oneshoted or overwhelmed just like the actual leveling player as the overall stats are decreased.

All those runes and whatnot usually just add stats, and the final tally is then adjusted.
Which means BTW you have to wear as high as possible lvl gear when going downlevel. Although pure levels increases your stats far more than gear, higher stats from gear isn´t to be ignored.

Level 80 player downscaled to 20 witll still be quite easy target for enemy . And mobs which are intended not to be killed by single player will still be unkillable even if u are lvl 80 with exotics. I think downscaling works fine.

GuildWars 2 is good game with bad management.

So? I usually play content 3 level below recommend level with blue and green gear. In fact, most of my gear is 4-8 level below my character due to constant bad drops. Those traits and unclocked skills are such a major benefit that a level 80 wearing only blue can trivialize lower level content.

So?
And if you were a pure lvl80 you could roflstomp the Queensdale Bog Boss-Monster yourself.

Right now most 80ies are too afraid of the Queensdale Vet´Troll because they fear the repair bill.

I wish I could fight Bog Boss because I never met it. From the looks of it, it will long and interesting because the boss has alot of health.

I have to admit the reward for killing veterens is horrible. Veterens as designed to be soloable. I was to soloing them since Beta Event 1 before they nerf the whole game. I died one or two times against them during the Beta because I aggro another enemy. It was fun. Now, those veterens are easy to kill. I been trying to fight them 2 level below them. It just takes awhile.
