My post is pretty much just the title.
I’m curious as to how people see these ‘anomalies’, or if they have to do certain things to see these? I heard of a cool event concerning them and interaction with them but as someone whose never seen one before… its a little saddening that I can’t do it? Unless I’m mistaken and there’s a certain way to see them or idk maybe I’m missing something? I heard it was client side.

Can anyone please explain this further! Please and thank you!

From what I understand you have to do this event first:

http://dulfy.net/2016/06/28/gw2-ley-line-anomaly-current-event-guide/

In order to see the sad anomalies popping up everywhere.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong. :O

Playing GW2 for the story is like expecting plot in a porno. You’ll be left disappointed.

Here’s the information the Wiki has on the ‘Sad Anomaly’: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Sad_Anomaly

(One need only defeat the Legendary Ley-Line Anomaly.)

However, one needs to complete other Bloodstone-associated Current Events to complete the latest Current Event that touching a ‘Sad Anomaly’ initiates.

Good luck.

Some people have mentioned that you also need your animation setting set to medium or high as well.

I don’t believe this to be true; I play on a potato, and am only able to use the lowest settings. No problem seeing Anomalies, nor interacting with them.

Does the “seeing” apply to account or character? As in does the character you are on have to finish those events or do all characters see it once one has done the event?

Since the Achievements are account-wide, I would guess all characters would see the phantom Anomalies. I know I’ve seen them quite often, and I don’t play the same character all the time.

Still, I can’t absolutely state I’ve seen them on different characters as I don’t remember each sighting. I’ve also done the parts of previous Current Events on different characters, but only finished the Achievement(s), of course, once (once being all that is possible).

I have definitely seen them on a number of alts, including a low level new one made fairly recently — and she saw one in her first visit to the Skritt in Harathi for PS, definitely never having been near any of the current event stuff. I’ve had them show up to alts while mapping Orr, in instances, all over the place. Once you see one on one of your alts, you will know you qualify.

Now I’ve also done all the Current events almost immediately upon their release and pushed for full achieves on all of them, so I can’t say what in particular triggered the ghosts for me. I’m willing to trust others that it’s the ley-line anomaly kill (the one where you chase a giant one around the map). Though I’d want to cross check the earliest forum postings about “what is this ghost” versus the current event release time line to be sure.

Current Events are account bound. If you did it on one, then you’ve done it on all of your alts too, automatically.

Yes, I was replying to Randulf’s query above “Does the “seeing” apply to account or character? As in does the character you are on have to finish those events or do all characters see it once one has done the event?” And affirming that it is an account matter, with the caveat that exactly which part of the Current Events I did to enable my account to see them is not provable given my completion of all of them.

For me the anomalies already popped up before ever encountering the Legendary one in ascalon. I only defeated some regular champion anomalies and did a few of those inquest vs consortium/priory events. But they pop up for your entire account once you meet the requirements. Only two or three characters of mine have ever done those events and all of mine can see them.

I have a follow-up question: I heard if you complete the Burden Of Choice achievement you stop seeing them. True or false?

I don’t think I’ve seen one since I was ‘cured’. I do, however, still scream, so I’m not sure how ‘cured’ I am.

Please next time use spoiler tags. I opened this cause i know about the sad anomaly, but i’m not that far in story for ‘cure’, wich you basically spoiled now.

Legendary weapons can be hidden now!
No excuse anymore for not giving ‘hide mounts’-option
No thanks to unidentified weapons.

If you cannot see them try this

Set your volume sliders EXCEPT music to high, ensure that Mute GW2 when in background is unchecked.

Goto a very quiet area without much ambient noise, many of the open ascalon fields are good for this (Don’t go into the corrupted area as thunderclaps tend to happen around there)

Here switch windows and amuse yourself with web pages or something that won’t cause too much noise. When you hear a buzzing sound, switch back and QUICKLY look around you, you will have extremely little time, the Anolomy should be there, touch it.

You must have completed the Ley-line Anolomy event in previous CEs to get this to happen.

This worked really well for me, thank you so much, been searching my kitten off!
Stood in the Hall of Monuments as per earlier suggestions, so there was zero sound interference from others, heard the buzz after a few minutes, got my achiev, thanks be to the almighty forum. <3
