How good is someone at a MMORPG?
I think how good you are at an MMO is pretty much entirely dependent on how you perform in combat (whether it be a 1v1 in PvP or soloing a difficult mob in PvE). As far as the other criteria, like currency saved up and number of endgame characters, for the most part these things don’t reflect how good a player is, just how much time that person has been able to invest.
This forum is a wretched hive of scum and villainy. ~DevilLordLaser
How good you are is really just how well you know your and enemy classes, what to do in each situation and reflexes that ofcourse play a huge part when it comes to dodging and hitting when you are supposed to. This is ofcourse for pvp.
In PvE its pretty much knowing the tactics for each boss and how to take them down, reflexes play a part there too but to a lower degree.
Gear, ammount of characters at 80 or achievement points dont show how good you are at anything… just the time you spent doing something ; p
I think how “good” you are depends on what your personal goals are in the game. If you can achieve what you want to achieve, then you are by definition a good player.
All classes are different so obviously one may do ore DPS than the other you cant have 100% balance.
I would like to add that too many people focus on comparing classes (damage output, etc.) and far too often neglect player skill and tactic, as well as teamwork, as rather significant variables in the equation.
