Q:
Just wondering here, but how hard would it be to fill my Hall of Monuments these days? I only have 7/50 right now, but with the original Guild Wars pretty vacant these days I wonder if it would even be worth my time and how much I could reasonably achieve without lots of trading and a basic lack of miniatures to use for completion. Anyone have any thoughts? Anyone else still working on their HoM? Having any success? All the guides out there are from pre – GW2 and thus not very helpful.

I’m not worried about whether it would be worth it (for me it would be, I want those skins!) But whether it would be feasible to do, and just how much harder it would be without a big player base to trade with.
contrary to believe there’s still a very sizable population in gw1, also you do not need other players to party with just make sure you start with eotn for the quick heroes switch to nightfalls for some more heroes and continue your adventure.
It will take a lot of money and time to acquire some of the stuff for HoM, for example destroyer/ tormented / oppressor weapons or vabian/ obsidian armor takes a lot of time and money to acquire these are the Gw1 legendary equivalents.
So in summary it is a matter of time and farming investment even if you can trade certain stuff with other players.
Ectos, the main currency in GW1 was easy to farm but now it is very hard to acquire specially since the underworld is not so readily accessible anymore.
I think it would take a long time. By the time I got to the HoM I was burnt out on the first game and looking at what was needed to fill the hall at the time decided it was not worth the time no matter what it would get me in GW2.
It would be insanely time consuming and pointless to do it at this point I’m afraid,
also considering the rewards are not really all that great.
If you want to do it for the lore that is a different story though.
the things you will come to know will make you see GW2 Tyria in a whole new light.
Warning:
you may experience severe nostalgia after playing GW1 and coming back to Gw2.
If you plan to get into GW1 and start working on stuff, feel free to shoot me a PM, I am sure I can find time to help out.

You can get around 5 points pretty easily on hero/pet statues. Around another 8 points in Honor with 5 statues and a linked account. And you should be able to at least get 1 armor statue if not more, shoot for a faction armor for another point. Try for a rare mini for another 2 points.
That alone should be good for 18-20 points in HoM. Not sure on how long it will take in today’s GW1 environment, I haven’t played since GW2 came out, but those should be things you can realistically achieve.
i have 50-50 and i dont bother using any of the skins and the pets are just a hassle.
gw2 skins are great and what you do in gw1 you’re not doing in gw2
Thank you for the feedback. And Aesir, thank you for the offer! I’ll definitely look for you.
