I think I have 25 mastery points in the regular Tyria section. I have no clue how to use them. I’ve looked on the wiki. It’s completely useless. Please help

You pick a mastery to level, once your bar is full you click on it and you can spend them.

You need to fill up the relevant xp bar, then you can go into the hero panel under masteries. At the end of the xp bar in there is a button to master the current mastery.

I heard you wanted some gating so I gated your gate.

OK, how do I fill up the bar?

If it’s a tyria mastery, then by gaining experience in Tyria.
If it’s a hot one, then in the hot maps.

Oh… so in over 2500 hours of gameplay, I’ve collected enough exp for about 1 centimeter of the first mastery bar?? Really? Serves me right for purchasing in advance. When will I learn?

Basically, you have to level up all over again.

Once you get a level in your Mastery, you can spend A point on one of the tracks. Sadly, you can’t just spend all your points at once. You have to level up again to spend more points. And rinse and repeat.

Yeah, I was kinda annoyed when I realized I first had to grind an hour to earn the privilege of spending mastery points I have to earn.

No, you can spend however many points that particular level requires. I just got the lvl 2 Pact Commander mastery and spent 2 points required to obtain it.

how can you get 635,000 exp in an hour? i mean if 2500 hours if play gets me nothing…. I don’t understand how you can get 635k in an hour?!?

And I already have 3 world completions and all the hero points so what have I not earned????

That is what I meant basically, as the first tier of your Mastery only costs 1 point.

My point was though, that even if you have 30+ Mastery points, you can’t spend them at once. You can only spend the amount it lets you spend. Like you said, you got level 2 Pact Commander and you could only spend 2 points. Now you have to level up yet again to be able to spend more points, but you can never just spend them all at once.

Lol, there are players that are mad and make stuff up. Leveling up masteries is same as levelling up. at Level1 mastery you need 50k exp, level2 mastery you need 100k and so fourth. Its very easy to get 50k exp you can get that in half an hour

Lol, there are players that are mad and make stuff up. Leveling up masteries is same as levelling up. at Level1 mastery you need 50k exp, level2 mastery you need 100k and so fourth. Its very easy to get 50k exp you can get that in half an hour

What are you smoking? Gliding and other HoT masteries cost 500k at level 1.

It was something like 265,000 back when every time we leveled while level 80 and we got a skill point. So it’s roughly 2 1/2 levels of XP as an 80. You have a tiny bit because you had recently “leveled” before HoT went live.

I started with 60 mastery points for central Tyria. Quite a lot considering how many it takes to progress in the 3 masteries. I got them by playing quite a lot, completely exhausting the content to the point of not wanting to do any more of it for the time being. But I’ll have to if I want those masteries, I’ll have to go there again and grind out many millions of experience. Surely they could’ve added some playable content to central Tyria as well?

New rewards for old content, not what I was hoping for.

I enjoyed grinding 26 800 500~ experience in a day. It felt good to be rid of all those useless EXP boosters I’ve had lying around for years. Even if I got a headache doing so.

Is there supposed to be notification icon when you’re able to train? There’s been some instances where I’ve lost out on XP since I didn’t notice it was “full” yet.

I don’t think you lose out on the xp. At least a couple of times I’ve trained my mastery tier and picked my next one and was already a chunk into it. Eg Exalted Lore, I picked that after getting Lean Techniques in Gliding, and had 17K xp applied immediately. I don’t think they’re letting any XP be wasted.

They are, it even explicitly says so, that at any time where you don’t have a mastery actively training, all XP you gain is lost.

Then where did that 17K xp come from? It was there the moment I selected the mastery line for the first time.

I got around 36k from FE event. To fill mastery bar I need 1,270,000 xp.
