I left this game a good while ago, my highest guy was level 50 so I never really experienced end game, I liked the lore and classes but I couldnt get over how it felt like the classes were all fairly similar, now that the last WoW expansion was terrible, and a new X-pac for this game is coming out I felt like I should give it another try. Also the fact that my biggest complaint with this game is now in WoW ten fold.

So my question is, what are some things I need to know, and what class/race combos are fun to play as?

Beyond level 50 there are a few more dungeons to run and you’ve got fotm…. and thats your endgame.

You can tinker around with all the busy work/chores for AP too…. but the important thing about this game…. with such a weak endgame…. is to set goals for yourself otherwise you will lose interest really rapidly.

(there just is not a lot to do)

If you have a goal…. like an item you want to buy…. you have reasons to do dungeons and farm areas like the silverwastes.

If not, you won’t have any desire to play.

Currently, my main focus is trying to get everything in order for the new profession when it comes out.

That means armor, weapons, runes, sigils, trinkets, etc.

If you didn’t like the leveling and the “classes” you should better leave.
Nothing changes much when you reach level 80 unless you want to PvP in sPvP or WvW.

Or you could also start and say which professions (classes) you already played, maybe you picked the “worst”.

Oh and there are no real tanks or healers btw, just DPS.

Race is really a cosmetic decision. There are some race skills, but they are minor. What really matters is the profession and what weapons you choose to use in that profession. You’ll get some very different play styles.

In PvE, there is more of a focus on DPS over support oriented builds. However, there are lots of different ways to play that, depending on what you like.

Expansion looks like fun. Will bring a bunch of new stuff.

“The hype is real.”

you really have to try every aspect of the game to have the fun.

PvE, WvW, sPvP, jumping puzzle, dungeons, fractals, map exploration, legendary crafting, personal story etc etc. do them all , even if on a smaller scale. if you focus only on certain aspect you’ll get bored very quickly….

I have been playing since Beta over 1000 days ago and been playing just about every day. I have 4 level 80 characters. I have map completion on just one so far. I have not played PvP all that much nor WvWvW just PvE mostly. I am still finding things and events that I have not seen before. Endgame? If I ever reached endgame that would mean the game is over and all finished and I am definitely not done with everything. Actually I am finally going to make a legendary since I had Zap drop for me a few weeks ago which is why I finally did map completion on at least one character.

Mostly the same for me minus the legendary. kitten RNG. Oh and I’m bored.
