How many characters do you have?
8 characters. Most fun to level were Guardian, War and Theif (in that order). Most fun racial story was Sylvari. Least fun to level was Mesmer.
Critical Impact [Crit]
I play my warrior and thief mainly but 8 characters. Every race, every class. Sooner or later I’ll get around to getting them all to 80 lol..

8, Engineer (first) because GW2 was a brand new world to me at launch. And permaswiftness was awesome for exploring haha However, I highly enjoy the activity level of the engineer and versatility so it worked well for me.
6 for me. only one at 80. I am a much more casual player.
Guardian was a blast, warrior and necro have been fun so far, and Im really enjoying the engineer and mesmer. Ele and ranger hold no appeal to me at all.
I had the most fun on the Guardian so far. Very rewarding experience thus far.
I have 4. Ranger, Thief, Elementalist, Mesmer. I’m leveling them all simultaneously, but so far I’d say the Ranger requires the least effort on my part, Mesmer the most effort.
I think its 10 I have, one of each and then another war and engie. Only four lvl80 currently.
Please give us a keyring…
8 characters lvl 80. Funnest to level up was a thief.
Master of all Professions
sPvP Rank Dragon – 8 Champ Titles – Ruby Division
9….don’t know why I purchased that 9th slot since I have one of each profession. Guess it just fulfills that need to level something up a few levels, then delete it and start over.
I also keep thinking that one of these days I’m going to find a Charr or Asura in some profession that I’m going to like….
3 level 80’s so far…though my guard is lvl 78 or so….My Necro was the most fun to level. Followed by my Engie. Ranger was the easiest to level by far.

(edited by Raf.1078)
I have 9 so far. My highest is a level 68 Guardian. I’m having fun exploring with her and taking my time poking into progressively higher areas. I’ll level the others up as I feel like it. The advantage of having alts is that when I get bored with one profession I can switch it up.
Now if I could just figure out why I have 2 necromancers…
Main? What “main”? I play all of them sooner or later.
Five characters, three level 80. Mesmer and Necromancer were my favourite to level up, and remain my fave to play.
1. mesmer. all i did while leveling was funny, enjoyable and easy.
i dont love alts as i like to have a single, perfect char and i would wear everything with legendaries, t3 or whatever luxury item. but, i must admit engineer and elementalist would be my second and third choice.
I have 13 level 80’s and one level 54. Working to do every map and storyline on each character. Time is of a premium with so much to do. Game on everyone!
7 characters. All Norn.
1 level 80 Thief with 1300 hours on it. He’s a commander for WvW, has 100% map completion, enjoys his build(has only respecced once in 2 months, and it barely changed my playstyle), and is the character I have had the most fun on. He was not the first character I made, but the only one that kept my attention(and so well). He has done every dungeon in story and explorable(But I am confident it was myself, not the character, that gets the job done in dungeons). I have an ascended backpack and an ascended amulet, but no ascended rings as Fractals bores me to death and is unforgiving with bad dungeon players, even on low difficulties(I cannot carry a party in Fractals like I can a normal dungeon). I am a WvW player at heart, however that did not influence my choice of Thief. In fact, Thief Commanders are not for the faint of heart, as we have to work twice as hard in zerg battles to live since we’re usually out in front. I do not run a survivalist build, but I am also not a pure glass cannon(but I lean towards the glass cannon side).
The rest are all not very high level or played much. I think my highest level alt is a 42 Guardian. I jump on my level 20 Mesmer sometimes for WvW, really only for portal, and when I start playing I’m always thinking ‘I could be doing so much better in this situation if I was on my Thief’.
My 8th slot is open, and is reserved for the day a new race gets released. Then it’ll be a necro. Or it’ll be a new class if that gets released. Or both.
I have never had more than 120g on my account or characters in my entire GW2 career. I currently have 49g on my Thief.
Darxio – Thief Commander
Currently 7, working slowly on saving up for #8, the Thief.
Necro, ranger, guadian and mesmer at 80. Ele 75 and Engi 74. The new, two day old, Warrior at 13.
10 Characters with 4 × 80s and a Thief on the capping threshold.
Favorite to level: Ranger
Least favorite to level: Mesmer
Favorite at 80: Mesmer
Least favorite at 80: Ranger
Starting a new Warrior now to go with my existing sylvari one because I didn’t have an asura character. Figured I’d go with the ultimate faceroll profession to make the trip to 80 as easy and painless as possible. When I finally get around to making a charr, she’ll be a faceroller too (unless something miraculous happens and profession balance ever gets implemented).
Five characters: Ranger, Mesmer, Thief, Engineer, Elementalist
In terms of most fun to level, I think it’s gone like this:
Ranger > Mesmer > Engineer > Thief > Elementalist
I enjoy them all but I’d say the Mesmer/Engi/Thief are pretty closely grouped, while there are big differences between the top and bottom classes. Ranger has been, by far, the most enjoyable for me and Ele, by far, the most trying. So perhaps it should look more like this:
Ranger > (Mesmer | Engineer | Thief ) > Elementalist

Favourite to level: Mesmer
Least favourite to level: Thief
Favourite at 80: Ele
Least favourite at 80: Engi
All classes and races except ranger and charr….
I have 14 characters, two of each class except Thief and Mesmer, which are reserved for future hypothetical Tengu or whatever. The original 8 are all 40+ (two of them are 80) while the newer set of six are all 10-20 right now, but climbing a lot faster because I know what the heck I’m doing now.
My roster:
ASURA
Female Engineer – 20
Male Necromancer – 42
CHARR
Female Elementalist – 16
Male Engineer – 50
Male Guardian – 10
HUMANS
Male Elementalist – 80
Female Mesmer – 55
Male Ranger – 15
Female Warrior – 15
NORN
Female Necromancer – 25
Female Ranger – 80
Male Warrior – 45
SYLVARI
Female Guardian – 48
Male Thief – 44
I’d put my two 80s on the opposite ends of the “ease to level” scale. My Ranger breezes through solo PvE content like she’s in permanent easy mode, while my Elementalist has to claw through the exact same content, every last encounter becoming a life-or-death struggle. This is… fairly bizarre, since their relative power seems to invert as soon as I get into a Dungeon or go to WvW.
I have 10 toons 9 of them are 80. Necro staff spec is by far my favorite class. Btw i love wvw and thats where i lvled them mostly. About 90% of the lvls came from wvw.
2.
Guardian and Engineer. I don’t have enough time to level and gear up more characters for now.
21 char slots.
8 level 80s
11 level 50-79
2 sub level 12
I enjoy leveling characters. The trip is fun, the final destination not so much. I can’t wait for the introduction of additional skills and traits to broaden my 80s even further.
I’m not a huge fan of vertical progression but am a huge fan of horizontal progression. Please Anet do start adding additional traits, skills, and weapon types.
Had I known from the start how this game was to function I’d have two or possibly three accounts. This account based laurel system really hurts folks like me with all their characters on one account.
Most fun, the Mesmer.
Easiest, Ranger
Most survivable, Warrior
Most ploddingly slow, Guardian
(edited by Ferguson.2157)
Lvl 80 Ele was my first. Not bad took many breaks
Lvl 80 Warrior. Gave me new love for the game.
Lvl 28 Eng. Love the flamethrower maybe going to main it at 80 for a while.
Eight.
80 Norn Warrior, Andreux Sainte.
80 Norn Necromancer, Reinhardt the Cold.
80 Human Engineer, Vince Blood.
74 Charr Guardian (Charrdian), Orran Ironspine.
50 Asura Elementalist, Qwoonix.
27 Sylvari Mesmer, Jheldarr.
26 Human Ranger, Reagan Woodcarver.
17 Sylvari Thief, Fuathgorm.
R.I.P. City of Heroes, 2004-2012
Long Live Atlas Park 33
1) ele – main
2) guardian
3) ranger
4) guardian – my last alt
maybe just my style of play, but my main paid for themselves and my #2 character, so it has the most playtime. characters 1+2 paid for 3rd, and now 1-3 are paying for 4th.

HOLY MOLY POLY PHONE
I got 8 myself, one of each profession
So far I have, in the order they were leveled.
80 Asura Engineer – Ervin the Fixer: Love him to death, most fun class imo. Rifle+SD spec, balanced traits and gear for survival and damage. 0/30/10/0/30. Leveled him to 80 in a week after release or something. Played parts of it with a friend who played a warrior. I could have done so many things better if I leveled him now. For example, I didnt use speedy kits and I leveled with dual pistols sigh.
80 Sylvari Mesmer – Watain Blacklight: Leveling him wasnt too fun, since I had no real knowledge about the class. If I were to level a mesmer again I’d stick to staff+GS when leveling. Once you get 20 points in duelling and 3 utility slots it gets easier, since you have an infinite amount of shatter fuel. Running in full dps gear, some valkyrie parts thrown in for extra health, rest is zerk. 20/30/0/0/20 spec. I want some form of passive speed utility since I hate focus with a passion.
80 Human Necro – Marduk Irondawn: Loved him when I leveled and still do, must be the fastest thing you can possibly level. Pull together 5 mobs (more is pointless due to AoE target cap), stack bleeds and transfer it to the rest, clean yourself from conditions with your staff, then clean yourself from random bodyparts and goo. Scepter+dagger and a staff, Consume Cond, BiP, Epidemic, Corrosive Poison Cloud (or spectral walk/sig of locust if you want speed) and Plague or Golem. Full rabid gear, 0/30/20/20/0.
80 Norn Guardian – Skallagrim Kveldulv: Really resilient class, balanced dps gear (valk+zerk), can still take a massive beating from most things without ever worrying about dying. Was a breeze to level, not the killing speed of the necro, but no worries about dying to anything really. 0/10/30/30/0. Only thing I’d redo if I were to level a guardian again would be to pick up GS+Staff from the start, I leveled with sword+shield and scepter+torch.
80 Norn Warrior – Gard Blodstrup: Loved levleing him, was about as quick and easy as it was with necro. Was bummed at 80, didnt like the lack of survivability, now 2 weeks later I’ve switched the spec around along with a bit of gear replacement, now hes as resilient as my guardian but deals more damage. Armor is made up of Knights head, chest and legs, zerker shoulders, gloves and boots. 2 Sup. Speed Runes, 2 Sup. Monk and 2 Sup. Water. With 10 points in tactics and reduces signet cd this gives me perma fury and swiftnes along with perma might (stacks may vary). Rest of the gear is zerker gear, using axe+shield and longbow. 15/0/15/10/30.
19 Norn Ranger – Hilding Hrafnson: About to start leveling him soon, just need a bit more gold to feel floating.
2 Sylvari Thief – Mithotyn the Rover: Still just goofing around in sPvP from time to time with him, will level him eventually.
8th character slot is still empty, elementalists just doesnt suit me… yet.
I play all my 80s on a regular basis since they are all too much fun.
(edited by SneakyErvin.3056)
8 all lvl 80.
Favourite to level: Guardian
Least favourite to level: Engi/Thief
Favourite at 80: Guardian/Warrior/Ranger
Least favourite at 80: Engi/Ele
I hate the engi at lvl 80 only because the dmg output is just not there.
as for the ele, well i just cannot get my head around changing the elements within a fight to get the best dmg output.

I got 3 characters 1 Elementalist, 1 Warrior and 1 Thief
3 at 80, in order of leveling – ranger, elementalist, mesmer
3 that are leveling now – necro, engineer, warrior
2 that will be last to level – guardian, thief
I have 18 Characters… and all of then were purchased by in-game gold <→ Gem (Of course I do spend real money <→Gem to purchase other event item like Wintersday’s theme items…etc)
In many characters that I have, there are 6 clones of one of my character cuz I love it so much LOL

18 chars? Are you serious O_O?
Anyway, I have only one (necro) and no plans to have any other soon; it took me 4 months and like 50 re-rolls to learn how to play properly (in PvE at least) and I’m still learning a lot so, I’m not really excited about having to learn another profession just yet.
-ArenaNet
8 characters, one of each class, at least one of each race, all level 80, all exotic armor, most exotic jewelry.
“A release is 7 days or less away or has just happened within the last 7 days…
These are the only two states you’ll find the world of Tyria.”
5…well 6 if you count the one that is just being used for storage atm and I’m planning on deleting,
I have 2 level 80’s ( a charr thief and a norn ele)
1 level 60 (human mes)
1 level 40 (sylvari necro)
1 level 15 (Asura Engi)
My Charr Thief was intended to be my main but I like Ele more. I love my Mes too but she is a bit of a pain to level. They seem to be really good vs strong single targets which isn’t so great for general PVE but I probably just need to look at my build a bit more carefully.
(edited by Demented Sheep.1642)
5 characters. Human Mesmer, Norn Ranger, Asura Elementalist, Charr Warrior and Sylvari Necromancer, all of whom are currently level 75. I love them all equally.
My Mesmer tends to have the most trouble as I’m using a weapon/playstyle that isn’t top-tier, but I still have fun with her. My Charr and Norn more or less facerolled their way through PvE, and Asura and Sylvari had some trouble at earlier levels, but now there’s little they can’t handle.
Human Female Warrior who I love the most. Commander tag and Twilight. Hands down my main except for when I comes to Mf because I believe she is WI Flagged.
Asuran Male Guardian for pve/dungeons.
Norn Female Thief for wvw only. God I love the thief.
Next class will probably be an ele because I cannot seem to take down eles with mt warrior or thief. Bad ones yes but the skilled ones give me trouble.
