People are always complaining about being overflowed with junk items, so how much do you have?

Here’s my collection of ascended items I have no use for:

So far I’ve used up 20,000 each of bloodstone, dragonite and empyreal in making ascended weapons. I will need 5,500 more of each to (mostly) finish.

No extra ascended rings. Don’t do fractals much.

I used to have a huge stockpile of Ascended mats. Then I started getting to r500 across all the disciplines and now I’m completely out of everything except Bloodstone Dust (and after I craft Mawdrey, I’ll be out of that as well).

I still need about 5500 Dragonite Ore and 1200 Empyreal Fragments. Emp is not a problem thanks to EotM and dungeons, but Dragonite will be a bit more problematic to get.

I was thinking about crafting Mawdrey to eat up the dust, but when I added up the cost it wasn’t worth it. I’d probably need over 50,000 bloodstone dust for it to pay for itself, which would also take over 6 months for it to consume.

I crafted all the armor and back pieces I need and bypassed crafting ascended weapons, going straight for legendary weapons instead.

Yeah, although I’m looking at it long-term. Once I finish crafting my Ascended gear (and after crafting an additional 50 Bloodstone Bricks as a reserve in case new stuff comes out), I’ll have no further need for Bloodstone Dust. I want Mawdrey for the skin anyway (I think it’ll look nice on my Sylvari), so getting Mawdrey II to help turn my excess Dust from future Champ bags into possible profit is just icing on the cake.

At the moment, you can get 70c per bloodstone dust, if you use them crafting toxic sharpening stones.
At 20k dust thats a profit of 140g. IF you have to buy the recipe for 28g, you still make 112g profit.

That sounds pretty good if the market is active enough. I’ll try making a few and see how it turns out.

I used to craft a bit more than i got dust every day and had no problem selling all of it.
One reason why these tend to sell that good is that the toxic spore samples kept rising in price constantly for months now.

One thing I learned when I was saving for a precursor was to be really strict on what items I actually want to keep.

I went through my bank, my characters inventories and my collectables tabs several times looking for anything I could sell (or craft into something I could sell for more) and it really got me into the mind set of not keeping things I had no use for.

Even stuff I couldn’t sell I found myself clearing out, just because I realised I had no reason to keep it. For example I don’t stockpile ascended mats. I have enough of the refined forms to make an ascended coat for my ranger (I like the skin) and 250 of each in the base form, but if I get any more I delete it, because I can always get it again later on if I want it.

Same with ascended rings. I was keeping about 4 or 5 in the bank but I got rid of all but 1, and I only kept that because the stats are right for the guardian I’m levelling.

Interestingly it also made me realise what I absolutely wouldn’t sell. I thought several times about selling my mini karka, which would have gotten me almost all the gold I needed in one go, but I decided every time that I’d rather keep my karka.

I just have to wonder why people keep useless things in bulk? You know you’re not going to use it (or at least not anytime soon). You know how easy it is to get more of it. Why not just delete it once you get a new stack in your inventory from farming?

As soon as I know it’s not going to be used, by any of my toons, I delete it. Then Anet comes in and throws a curve ball, saying that certain materials are going to be needed for this-and-that, and here I am wishing I’d kept a lot of stuff.

This screenshot is probably eight months old or so. Since then I’ve finished all the Asc crafting I have the patience to do, a great deal of Dragonite Ore has also built up. Many more useless Asc rings from Fractals as well.

Am I the only one around here who deletes unwanted stuff?

I used to delete stuff but as another poster pointed out, ANet has this way of making you go “DOH!!!” right after you do that, so now I try to keep as much as possible. I have extra toon slots I’m not using though, so will be able to have several mules if needed. Right now I have one I use strictly for ascended materials, which is close to getting full. But, I’m finally planning to make ascended gear and weapons, so I’m sure I’ll be using it all up shortly.

What I find worse is the LS stuff. That’s where ANet gets you, as they do and don’t bring stuff back. Or let you sell stuff. Or don’t. Who knows any more am I right? So ya, I keep it all.

I would really like to see more things you can do with all the ascended mats and with essences of luck, as those will be really useless to most people very soon if not already as well.

Rings are worth 10s, thats 2 gold per 20 slot bag and 5g per bank tab you are hoarding for months now. Considering the cost of extra bag and bank space and its functionality and convenience, I am boggled why you would occupy it with items worth so little to you and anybody else.

If you would have vendored all your rings 8 months ago and bought ANY unrefined common mats from your profits and stored it in the freed up space, you could have at least doubled your profit on the vendor value and have free bank/bag space since the bazaar came around.

Rings are worth 4s95c. Asc rings are in insult, and worth so little that I honestly do not care about that tiny sum of money. Hoarding them allows for them to be redeemed if a real way to get rid of them comes around, and if not, then it makes for a statement/insult to Anet to their inability to give suitable rewards for their content.

I basically have all the expensive skins and such I want, so any extra money from dungeons/investments is perfectly fine going towards expanding alts’ inventory space. NOTE: the price of 20 slot bags is negligible if you are a Fractal runner.
