Imo a new weapon set for every class should be released every 6 months or so.

It’s easy to get tired of the current ones your class can have, the point is too master them, but once mastered most of the time i just find myself doing the same all over and over. and i wonder how long will it take for arenanet to give us some new gameplay.

It’s not asking for a new class or race, just some new weapon combinations or new weapon itself.

opinions?

The problem with weapon sets is that working within the realm of fantasy weaponry, the options are limited.

Believe you me, I would love to see new weapon sets and skills, but that is only a bandaid on the problem.

The problem is there is little customization within the design of skills attached to weapons. There are a dozen ways to fix this, but all would require either massive rebalancing or a massive amount of re-tuning the current design.

Lately i’ve been thinking about, what about the option to actually customize your skill within a weapon set. Like 3 optional skills in every slot. that would give some flavours and bring back some gw1 memories.

They could add in more Crest and Sigils. As things stand they have out put a new Sigil and weapon type for the last 3 major even mad kings day, winters day, and crab ppl day.
We are not sure if they will add in new weapons for class but they said they could. I am still holding out for a hammer on an ele!

Main : Jski Imaginary ELE (Necromancer)
Guild : OBEY (The Legacy) I call it Obay , TLC (WvW) , UNIV (other)
Server : FA

Yeah i hope ele get some love because right now we are stuck to 2 viable weapon sets 1 mediocre and 2 worthless.

Some melee weapon would be nice for ele, i’m hoping for sword.

tho i would love to see some new handed weapon like, power bracelets or something.

I’ve wondered if giving us the ability to equip one of each type of usable weapon and then being able to swap between any equipped weapon would help.

- There would still be a 30 second delay on swaps, so this shouldn’t cause a balance problem

- To those who are bored with the limited skills available this would open a bunch of new skills they could swap to

- The game is already balanced around being able to swap some, so those who just want to stick with 5 or 10 skills wouldn’t be substantially out powered by those that wanted to learn to swap all of their weapons

- This would dramatically increase the demand for weapons maybe helping the economy

dont be too harsh.

new aaa mmos like “neverwinter” are coming out wit only 5 classes and 1 weapontype per class.

i mean..
that’s bad!

gw2 is that much ahead of any “action” mmo alreay released or to be released.

until maybe teso, nothing is gonna touch gw2.

to be honest, gw2 combat is really dynamic but it’s sooooooooooo slow and somehow can get boring. still good tho. Oh and the skillcap is really low.

skillcap is ok, if you want to rock all weapons.

pvp is demanding.

and the real skill cap is trying to really maximise your boons/condition/cooldown/energy in the heat of battle.

its not a novel prize in science, but it does the job and it can be quite fun.
i suggest you try using different powers/weapons.
maybe not optimized at first, but learn to use them, evntually youll realize “oh kitten! i could use that power/weapon in that situation!”

I don’t care for new weapon sets, I want to be able to customize the existing ones with more skills added to them.
