On my Guardian which is the main character I play I have:

Deaths: 54
Hours played: 400
Deaths per hour: 0.14

This would seem much less than many posting here. I have all the professions at 80 and others have not fared as well. I honestly don’t like to die and take pains to avoid it. That said, I think Anet is fine with death. Watching livestreams I’ve seen Anet people dying left and right and they don’t seem concerned at all. Perhaps that’s why they can consider one-shot instagibs from the particle blur to be a proper scale of difficulty or a fun element of gameplay.

That’s a really good record on a guardian. I died a lot on my guardian, it was my first melee char and played her pure melee to start with and died a lot. This was at the start of the game though when i was a total noob and didn’t really understand the class. Plus i’m not really fond of melee in any game. So yea don’t die as much any more but all those deaths were accumulated in the first few months and also quite a few falls trying to get to vistas and JP’s and she’s a Norn to boot lol.

Its kind of hard to say. I die an average amount of times I guess.

I don’t think too much of it. Crap happens. To me. A lot. That’s been my motto in life for awhile now. But lately with the skill latency in the game being worse than before, I’m dying more often now than ever.

When running around in zerker gear, you expect that dodge or that block to work right when you need it. So when I press a button and nothing happens… I kiss pavement.

How much I die is highly tied to if I have the outmanned buff or not… ‘cause I’ll go do bat kitten crazy stuff when I don’t have to worry about repair bills.

Well it certainly has fewer consequences than most other games. Compared to GW1’s death penalty, GW2’s down penalty is just a minor momentary inconvenience.

I’ll get downed, esp on my guardian cause I try to bite off more than I can chew despite using a tanky build, but deaths are rare. I have an elementalist too and I have a good idea if a situation is gonna turn bad and run before I let anything kill me.

Screenshot? If it was your first character I refuse to believe you’ve never died once on an ele. But, I may be wrong, so.

I guess depends what u been doing in those hours. You could just park in LA the whole time lol. Coz there’s no way you would have survived that long if u played in WvW, or even completed some of the dungeons, like Arah!

Yeah no way have they done… anything at all. XD Even in organised guild runs you die occasionally.
