I’m doing a fractals run with a group of Yak’s Bend guys and they purposely do not rez me on the last chest and kick me from the group before I can loot it without saying a word to me prior. We had just restarted because one of them failed to make a jump toward the boss and I failed to make it on the restart but they did not give me an option to restart even after I asked nicely. I know we are currently WvW rivals but is that an excuse to treat me like garbage?

For no reason, Ive been booted from a fractal run once or twice. I think they were from the same guild though. Not sure why ;p. You get bad eggs like that in any game.

Honestly the fact you made a post about getting kicked from and FotM makes me think you were whining the whole time they were killing the boss and he decided keeping you around was not worth the effort.

Not at all. Keeping me around was no more trouble than just rezzing me and letting me loot the chest before leaving the dungeon as we were on the final boss of the final fractal.

Eh, welcome to the world of MMOs. There will always be jerks in game.. Just like real life. :/

Seems like a big of a design flaw though. Shouldnt be able to kick until everyone gets a chance at loot.

What’s the value in this type of behavior? The loot isn’t shared so it was no loss to them to revive Grevan so he could loot the chest.

I don’t understand some people at all.

I’ve played a tonne of dungeons before fractals was introduced and i’ve now made it to lvl 30 on 1 char and 12 on another i’ve been kicked around 4x for no reason at all sometimes I don’t understand how 2/5 players is a majority when it comes to vote kicking. I would try avoid the parties with guildies because if 1 of them doesn’t like you you will get kicked

Perspective is pretty rough on some people. The attention seeker on the forums is usually the most abrasive undesirable you can possibly imagine playing with in game for a host of clearly obvious reasons to anyone from an opposing perspective.

But from inside the looking box, people tend to ignore reality in favor of fuel for their nuerosis and drama cravings.

I mean sure it could be a real complaint, but why would a thoughtful and rational complaint be filed on the forums if not for the sole purpose of attracting attention…?

Kicking someone so they can’t lewt is a hallowed MMO tradition. There is a specfic etiquette the majority of players follow when exacting this kind of punishment. I have every inclination that the etiquette was followed in the cases provided here.

Constantly avoiding any expression of responsibility when you screw up, ergo you fall in the hole (or any number of other mistakes made during the rest of the crawl), is among the behaviors that can result in getting kicked before lewt. Just as an example.

And before you get all semantics about it. The idea is to punish. Not to benefit. People don’t usually want to punish you unless you do something to warrant it.

^ One of those people who do guild runs and kick the pug when they fail to realize the pug is basing his movement and play by observation, and not being in vent.

First I’m a whiny, terrible player then I’m an undesirable attention seeker. While this may or may not be true in most cases, it doesn’t represent me at all. This is my first post on these forums and I only did so because I was upset about what had happened. In hindsight I missed out on looting one chest so I’ve almost forgotten about it already. There’s just something about kicking me after the last boss without saying anything at all to me on the previous 3 that irks me.

I failed to make it on the restart but they did not give me an option to restart even after I asked nicely. I know we are currently WvW rivals but is that an excuse to treat me like garbage?

Yes.
I would do the same thing.
I’m pretty sure your not telling the whole story.
You probably weren’t pulling your weight.

You don’t kick anyone for any reason at last fractal, period.

No doubt. That’s just a jerk move… Even if they suck, you could just let them die instead of upping them when they’re downed.

The first weeks I started playing I’ve been kicked out of the party too.Understandible considering I was a complet utterly morone.Never been kicked out of a dungeon and didn’t deserved it.I don’t think you’re sharing whit us the whole story there. No one kicks you out whitout a reason. And to be honest I’ve surely kicked a lot of bad attitude and complete failures out of my group too.I don’t mind carrying a dead weight but when you can’t advance because you’re dragging everybody down thats a problem.

Maybe you were whining too much. Or not idk. But many things became clear to me the day I let my 10 and 8 year olds play star craft. I recognized many things Id seen in mmo chat come out of their mouths in very short order. Ah… it all made sense after that. Dont worry about it and move on.

I have to disagree. I almost kicked a guy just after the Maw died just 2 days ago(opted for blocking him cause I wasn’t sure if he’s not the owner and what might happen if he was). Here’s how the run went:
- 1st fractal…me and my partner dc 3 min in. Restart the run, guy complains.
- 1st fractal(again), asura fractal, guy falls and dies on the side. Guy complains we are taking too long to suicide.
- 2nd fractal, don’t remember which one, guy complains the guardian is being too slow.
- 3rd fractal, swamp, guy complains it’s taking too long. Guy is on the floor half the fight, we are taking turns ressing him.
- 4th fractal, my partner goes afk for 1 min(bio), guy shouts at him to stop afking(caps and all). 2min later guy dies due to being afk.
Till that point I was still tolerating. Then comes the moment of truth…Jade is about to die, there are 2 crystals available. I’m holding one…the other one gets thrown. Guy gets targeted, killed, then the all target phase starts. Guy right out insults me for not giving him the crystal(anybody who ever ended up at the end of Maw without a single crystal would understand why I was reluctant to let go).

To sum it up: The guy was by far a horrible player, kept complaining and eventually ended up insulting me. Now tell me again how one should never kick at the end of fotm. Some people deserve just that.

Fractals bring out the absolute worst in people. I’m one of those strange people that usually likes grouping with strangers. I’m an average player. I pay attention when instructions are given and I don’t complain unless there’s exploiting involved. I prefer to simply play the game as intended. Out of hundreds of dungeon runs, I was kicked once by a guy who didn’t know how to communicate and spent more time putting a target icon over people’s heads, than doing anything remotely useful. I didn’t feel bad about that.

My point is, report these folks if you feel its necessary but understand that some people aren’t going to work together well. It’s best to just slog through these groups and leave at the first gracefully convenient moment. In my experience, it’s been pretty easy to tell the groups that’ll be good and the ones that’ll be bad, quickly.

Grevan, I’m sorry this happened to you. You’ll just have overlook rude, hateful unsavory people.. Sorry to say this game is filled with a lot of them. Sometime, somewhere karma will bite back.. It may be in game or in their own miserable life. Take care.
