After facing off against Zhaitan, I thought his fight as very underwhelming to say the least, and as for LS season 1 from what I have seen from videos on Youtube, it seems to lack a sense of satisfaction even when doing the finishing blow against Scarlett. And it’s clear that we will fight Mordremoth sometime and I really wish that Anet would at least make this fight one as epic as possible. From my experience with Tequatl, I thought his boss fight was amazing out of all the other world bosses: having a certain set of people take him out head on while the others can support the assault force. Perhaps if we can have something like that but on a larger scale and with variety, that would be the right way to slay the dragon.

It may or may not improve because a lot of people still want to be able to spam 1 to win.

Well, I suppose that’s true. But there are other ways to spam 1 to win, if you know what I mean? The last thing I want is to see people kitten about how much of a let down the final boss is or how boring it is.

The Living Story is now re-playable anytime. Unless this changes, I can’t think of how they could have something on the scale of a Tequatl fight. It’s gonna be a 5 man party at most, plus possible NPCs. (And I wouldn’t want to have to wait for a Tequatl-sized group to gather before I could wind up my Living Story.)

Maybe we could take on Mordremoth the way the Order of Whispers (supposedly) likes to tackle dragons… we find a way to put him back to sleep! Ooh! Aah! Those Order of Whispers guys probably throw some wild parties!

Build a man a fire, and he’ll be warm all day.
Set a man on fire, and he’ll be warm the rest of his life.

I have been thinking about the fight against Zhaitan and after a bit of talking with my guildmates about it and here’s what I thought would be awesome:

Maybe we can make an airship battle against Mordremoth but have it handled in a similar fashion as Guns of Icarus where one player would be the captain/helmsman and 2 would be either the gunner or the protector of the ship. I bet that would be pretty kitten amazing.

Zhaitan fight should have been more personal. I understand we needed plot device laser to harm the elder dragon, but after being fire bombed a bit he should have leapt the the aircraft and pulled it down with him. After the crash we find ourselves in a narrow canyon with a badly wounded Zhaitan staring us down. Then fight him to the death in close quarters.

Please make the Mordremoth fight more personal this time. I can understand a plot device to wound it, but let us deal the finishing blows. People want to stare down the dragon and kill it with their own hands.

That much is true, though how in the world could 5 level 80 people take out an Elder Dragon of that size if we are going to go up close and personal?

I like this.

My old idea for how the fight with Zhaitan should have gone was a three stage battle:

Stage 1: you’re on the airship, shooting at him, while Zhaitan drops minions and bombards. Pretty much what we have now.

Stage 2: Zhaitan begins to fly off and decides to play the ranged game. Players jump onto personal fliers and dog fight with Zhaitan a bit before everyone goes down.

Stage 3: Zhaitan is grounded, fight him face to face.

Destiny’s Edge tried it, and all it accomplished was the death of Glint.

Because they were missing one member. I am talking about up close and personal after cutting it in half with a laser and hitting it with cannons and having it fall with a airship landing on top of it. Then fighting it at its most vulnerable, but up close and personal. That shouldn’t seem outside the realm of reason.
