How to explain that an event needs to fail?
Generally, they’re trying to phase out the event failures form the legendary collections. I’m not sure if there’s a thread about this elsewhere, but I know they’ve changed several things to be obtainable without requiring an event to fail.
That doesn’t immediately help your situation, but at least they’re working on it!
Say it out loud and hope they notice the request. “I need this to fail so the next event happens that will give me a piece of a legendary. You’ll still get an event.” They won’t always see it (I’m still so chagrined about killing that shaman near the Owl when I was in Map chat and thus didn’t have Say visible).
ANet said on Reddit they were trying to fix all that but I have no idea if they intend to polish the current legendary collections now that they’re dumping the project.
Well I was avoiding these issues by not starting those collections from the start. And just saw online that this issue was already there 4months ago. So seems I need to wait a bit longer than for this phasing out than
Hi
I have heard about this before, but thought that this was impossible, but its not. How can you explain to fellow gamers especally lower level onces that they should not kill a mob? The thing is that with the Legendary Collection there are achievements you only get on chain event were one of the events fail.
please tell me how the explain this with out failure or chance this part of Legendary Collection.
There’s no good way to guarantee that people will understand and even if they do, no good way to ensure that they agree it’s good for the community to allow the event to fail. The problem is on ANet’s end: they should have vetted every collection item to ensure that none depended on circumstances that depended on failed events (especially since this was an issue for various living story challenges in the open world).
ANet has said that they are looking at each such event, so your options are:
- Patiently, wait for them to get it together.
- Try to explain to others, using even more patience.
- Park a toon near the event and wait for a patch that resets all events, so that you don’t need a failed event to start you off.
None of those are great options, but that’s what we have available to us in the near term.
