Why not release a recipe for them? They are good all round runes for WvW but are hardly great enough to warrant being so rare.

Put 4 major runes in the Mystic Forge. Pray to Zommoros. Press the button. Scream in anger when you got a major rune. Do it again. Scream in anger again when you get a Superior rune, but differen than what you were looking for.

I was lucky and had 6 of these from my magic find armor set. Way back when, I think they were less than a gold. Honestly, if anet was going to release recipes for existing runes, I feel like they would have done so already… Runes of divinity and other high priced runes didn’t get special treatment, so I guess, why would traveler runes?

Seriously though, I would like traveler’s on my Mesmer because:

1. I hate the focus with a blazing passion
2. I’m tired of bumming speed buffs off guildmates and random people

But I refuse to pay these ridiculous TP prices. The halfkittenedness of some of GW2’s features implementation is really starting to leave a sour taste in my mouth.

No. I didn’t mention anything about using Black Lions Salvage Kits to get them. I was just correcting your misinformation. Then I added how I got the runes. With gold.

One more misinformation on your part. There are other ways of getting BL salvage kits. Such as achievement chests and map completion.

My point wasn’t that they shouldn’t be able to be crafted, but that anet doesn’t seem to care if they get high priced or not, based on the prices of other uncraftable runes.

I don’t see a problem with a non-common run with great benefits and high desirability being higher priced.

Honestly Grinded out 2 days of farming and dungeoning, salvaged everything and sold all the mats and got 85 gold and bought my trav runes for mesmer. Yea you dont want to shell out the gold but its really not that bad. I just spent 45 gold to buy two corrupted weapons just for the skins. shrug, and yes Trav runes are actually a real game changer they made me love my mesmer again cuz im not crawling… worth every minute of grinding

Agreed, even at 7g each, 42g is worth it. I was lucky and bought slightly over 2 Yakkington armor sets prior to the change to MF gear (for 1.5-2g per piece,) knowing the new traveler’s runes could be good…my Mesmer and Guardian love them Another alternative that CAN be crafted is the Superior Rune of Speed – it is vitality + 25% speed – although not sure if they have fixed those yet as the speed component was broken last time I checked.

First off like Cat said those kits have 100% extraction rate. Also like Cat said you can get them from many sources in the game including a random prize in BLC. So if you already have one hidden away somewhere then you are all set.

Also when i got mines, the gear with the runes in them went for 5.85g with a buy order compared to around 7.8g of just buying the runes.

I have a few BLC kits from dailies

I salvaged my old MF set that had the runes on them, rather than change the stats to something I’d never use anyway. (No PVT and why have 2 sets of zerk?)

May be worth it if you have an out dated MF set laying around, and especially if you have a mesmer to put them on.

I wonder if you can make money gambling runes in the mystic forge — 7 gold per traveler is quite a lot (but then almost every other rune is worth nothing).

If you salvage rare items with master salvage kits, and just happen to have 4 major sigils, might as well go for it. But I wouldn’t pour a bunch of gold into it.
