Reading over the patch notes as it’s downloading and came accross this tidbit:

General

The “Join in…” option in the party member contextual menu is no longer displayed on party members playing in a different region.

so how does it work now to join friends in different overflows?

I think that refers to EU vs US not different servers within those two regions.

Taxi’ing still works as before.

It’s just that now if you are a US player trying to join the map of a EU player, the option doesn’t appear at all.
